Sorry I missed '5' year in my previous comment. Luckily I had 5 year warranty on both TVs. First one was from JL and second from tesco. Got full money back on both.

Sony changed the stand/wall mount issue. I had 1x 2013 and 2x 2014 TV's they all came with stand to mount but I now have this 50W805 and that comes with 2 long metalic spacers so you can use VESA out of the box. Had the TV since Thursday and I think the sound is better then last year models. Good overall TV and has not frozen nor lagged yet. I have downloaded TV portal, Showbox and they work fine no problem and it helps that you can use the 'tvside view' app curser but I can't open the menu (top left) of CartoonHD so it only shows movies. I don't know how others downloaded them but I had to open (download) 'Es file explorer' on TV then via Bluetooth remote access my phone apps and download on to TV but showbox didn't want to work at all so I opened Es file explorer on the phone and umm sent it to the TV and it downloaded straight away (a lot easier). I don't know why the Black 805 has 800hz but the Silver 807 has 900hz. Is it not the same TV just different colour?.
Is this better/the same as the Amazon bundle tv that I must missed out on? Getting a 55" and have finally decided to ditch Samsung in favour of Sony, but it's just choosing the best deal possible.

Never buy an expensive tv without warranty. I have used Samsung and LG both failed just after year. Good thing I had year warranty on both

That's why I'll always get John Lewis / richer sounds to price match. The last TV I bought came with a five year warranty.

Even if your tv's failed just after a year you still have rights as it's something that should not happen. As regards the slowness of Sony's menu system Iv'e seen a lot slower and more complicated. Plus with updated firmware this has dramatically improved the load time of all functions. Plus with a Sony TV how many other tv's can you plug a PS4 controller into the side and play PSN games without having a console. Most of the Sony tv comes withstand that can also be used as a wall mount. The picture qaulity is fantastic it's light weight compared to other tv's of same size and who needs 4k

Yeah its a shame really. I bought the W829 55" - the picture is truly stunning. specifically bought last years model to avoid android/4k !

Yea I went on the Sony site. I've used a Sony Android TV and didn't like it much. Then again I'm used to having a mini PC hooked up to the TV. My main issue is that the Android TV OS is not well refined. The menus can be frustratingly slow, even the TV guide.
