Cheapest I could find. I've been checking back since I saw the deal for a PS4 1TB and 1 game for £299.99, this seemed like too good a deal to pass up. I collect mine later on this morning (hopefully!) so will post more details later on.

Looked intriguing but the games to pick from are LBP3, drive club, the order and God of war 3. These have little sell on value, maybe £10 without looking making the console 269, which is about right at the moment. Not voting either way.

You can also get the console with one game but it's uncharted or until dawn or bloodborn, which is probably a better deal. Not sure if this is the c chassis though.

This seems like a good deal as its 1TB. Is it C chassis?

Once I collect I will check out which model it is! And Markalanious, fair comment, I couldn't find another 1TB deal for that price.... And I've opted for 2 copies of little big planet as I get more in cex for that

I get the feeling we won't see many PS4 deals until the likes of Amazon get new stock in. A lot of bundles seem to be sold out or very low stock at the likes of Amazon. What is around on Amazon seems to be from independent traders. Hopefully come February we'll see more deals floating around.

That was £269.99 at Amazon two weeks ago, I bought it :sunglasses:

I think it's pretty lame that Sony/retailer are still selling the older model at the same price, with no real way of the consumer knowing what they're picking up when we're buying online. Unless the actual online retailer states it's the new model, it's currently a lottery which model you're getting. Sony should be more clear on the matter. Like maybe even giving the packaging box a slightly different design.
I know it's easy to tell if you're actually physically in the shop (due to the matt finish), but retailers usually just use stock images.
My point being, people shouldn't need to be asking whether it's the new model, it should be clear.

It's not like its a different machine though, it still does EXACTLY the same thing as the "old" model, I think that many people (especially on here), are being sucked in by forum hype, there's millions of PS4 users with the old style unit and I don't see them rushing to swap them  (lets face it, 99% of people wouldn't know the difference!).

Like anything electrical or with moving parts, the 2nd run models are almost always better, regardless if it does exactly the same thing or not. It's nothing to do with the hype. Take the old 360's, they did exactly the same thing as the new slim versions, but the slim versions were by far the better products. More issues get ironed out with each proceeding model.
The only reasons i can think for opting for the older model when it comes to consoles is for software reasons, not hardware reasons. If I'm gonna spend £250-£300 for a new PS4 at this moment, I'd want the newer model for the very reasons I've given above.

10 Jan 16#15
arguably the older model has a better track record though while the new one might be prone to breaking down after 6 months. you really don't know about the new one. some might argue that the older one is therefore a better bet.

10 Jan 16#16
That's a good point. I have both models (1 old and 2 new) and the only noticeable improvement on the new chassis is it is quieter in operation. The old one I got on release day gets quite noisy (only when playing certain games), but the new ones are whisper quiet. Not an issue if you don't sit near it, but I do and it gets annoying sometimes. Been trying to get one of the kids to swap with me but they're not having any of it!

Any two games...would have bought. Getting sick of the wait now...wish I'd have bought at xmas. I'm sure PS4's have been price fixed, making all this majorly illegal. Argos' advert of GTAV + PS4 for £249.99 was still live days after New Year...click the add and no, back to £299.99...again, illegal. Just put GTAV + PS4 back to £249.99 somebody and I will learn my lesson and buy now! I am definitely not paying any more when they have been lower, it is a joke!

Most UK stock is pre Christmas stock. You just need to look on Amazon and GAME to see most bundles are sold out. Once they all restock prices will fall again. They're also selling the stock at RRP, so I don't see any price fixing going on. Price fixing usually means every major retailer keep products at an unreasonably high price, for a long time with little or no movement. Just now due to the low stock levels, shops really aren't in a position to begin a price war so to speak.

Hi, emailed customer service. they said all 1TB ps4 on their website are the current C-Chassis
Dear Charlie,
Thank you for your email.
Please be advised that all the PS4s that we have are the newest model - C Chassis/CUH-1200.
We hope that this might be of some benefit to you.
Should you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
EDIT:
Bought the PS4, Can Confirm it is the latest model. Got with Drake Trilogy for £279

Very true Dr Bawbag, but how long will it take for them to fully re-stock? It makes no sense to me for a retailer to run out of premium stock...such a huge amount of potential sales lost, where people go elsewhere. Tesco and Amazon are massive, they have the buying power and storage capacity to do a better job than this.

11 Jan 161#38
The demand probably out strips the supply. Sony are probably churning out less than they would like. I'm in the same position as you. Waiting for them to come down. Hell, I've even been buying some PS4 games as and when they've went on sale. All I need now is the actual console. Refuse to pay these sort of prices because I can almost guarantee you if i were to, something would appear £50 less within days. A little bit **** that i didn't just pick one up before Christmas when deals were getting posted right, left and centre.

Went to pick this deal up from the Newport branch today after ordering online but they only had the older model 1100s in stock. Was offered a 1200 pre-bundled with Uncharted for an extra £10 but I declined. I'm sure I can do better!

hmmmm debating over this - the 2 game deal with the 1tb PS4 is appealing but there isn't much resale value on the games, so you'll probably get the console for what £250 if you are luck (after selling the games)
is that good value, £250 for a 1tb console?
Am i best off waiting like you guys say, for stock to be replenished?

Easy way to explain
a grade had number 1000 b grade had 1100 c grade have 1200 ending depending of region like 1214 or 1216 now you have letter like 1216A that means is 500gb and 1216B is 1tb all of them had A or B depending of capacity
;-) if your are still not sure that your console had a physical buttons? If so that is definitely C chassis ;-)

So, been scouring the net for an answer and the best I have found is this on Wikipedia:
According to that, the 1000 series is the A chassis, the 1100 series is the B chassis, and the 1200 series is C chassis. Do the one I received was the C chassis
