Abbey Wood in Bristol?
lisajane2104
11 Jan 163#11
yes abbeywood in Bristol, they are at the end of an isle at the back of the store, some are dated Feb 2016 and some Dec 2015, if you speak to a lady called shivonne she's the one that said £2.40 as she wants them gone, normally 69p a bottle so good deal I thought
bblgoose to lisajane2104
12 Jan 162#90
Well that'll be the last time she tries to do a customer a favour. This wasn't ever an actual deal, it's something that she offered you, specifically, as a one off deal to clear down expired stock. As a result of her kindness, stores all over the country will have had to deal with hundreds of calls from people looking for cheap booze, the store she works will have been inundated with people asking for her by name, and she'll be in trouble with her managers/head office for being in major breach of the company's alcohol license.
Let's just hope she still has a job after your good deed.

Sadly, you get the bad with the good with HUKD. It's a great deal though, that won't be taken away.
Unfortunately, there are generally three types of people that come to the comment sections. Vultures, those who wouldn't be satisfied if a brand new car was free just because they read somewhere that it was rubbish, and the trolls.
Keep the faith, and avoid the comments.

Black people are animals.
Jews are animals.
Muslims are animals.
Asians are animals.
Women are animals.
Gays are animals.
All disgusting statements, I'm sure you will agree. Yet somehow statements like "men are pigs." are never called out, you hear such bigotry on TV, you have trending twitter hashtags like #killallmen, there are quotes from leading feminists advocating for the genocide of men, locking men in concentration camps, paying men less than women for the same work, etc. The last acceptable group to hate: heterosexual white males.

It's in breach of B&M's alcohol license, which like every other alcohol license in the UK, carries a mandatory condition that they can't sell alcohol below cost price (defined as the cost of duty+vat). For 275ml at 4% ABV, that's a legal minimum sale price of 37p a bottle.

I think people are getting confused between best before and use by dates:
Use by
You will see 'use by' dates on food that goes off quickly, such as meat products and ready-prepared salads. Basically, a lot of the products you find in chilled cabinets in the supermarket.
Best Before
'Best before' dates appear on a wide range of frozen, dried, tinned and other foods.
The 'best before' dates are more about quality than safety. When the date runs out it doesn't mean that the food will be harmful, but it might begin to lose its flavour and texture.
