Picked up this drive yesterday from Sainsbury's Merton and also seen in some other local branches. Thought 1TB for £35 is quite cheap.

It's the 2 GB version, as above, that's recommended not this one, so....

The 2TB drives are fine. It's the 1TB drives that are not. The model numbers you need are STBX2000401 and STEA2000400 for the 2014 and 2015 versions respectively. You can also use the Xbox One 2TB Game Drive, though you're effectively paying extra for a green bit of plastic.

Wish they had it in the Sainsbury's I work in. Selection is dire there and nothing is ever discounted

Will this work with Wii U? Or should I get a 2TB (I have no idea how big the games are on Wii U)

I can confirm this.
Bought a 1TB model for £35 from Sainsburys in Cheadle. Opened it up and the USB connection is soldered :disappointed: I only hope that I can somehow return it.
Can't believe my luck. This drive has been recommended as the go-to choice pretty much everywhere for cheap PS4 upgrades. Either those recommendations were ill informed or Seagate have changed their drives.
Don't buy it for PS4 upgrades.

I don't think it is. Actually - I have seen a Seagate 1TB expansion just like this that actually has the USB connection directly on the HDD, meaning no SATA connection, meaning no PS4 upgrade. The 2TB is fine, the 1TB isn't.
Unless Dave has got this particular model, I would be extremely cautious about this because once you've opened it, it's going to be a lot more difficult to return.

Yes USB 3.0
Tested on a Mac. Very fast for a portable drive.
