Manchester all Weds dates - 3 / 10 /17 /24 August all £55.99 outbound and same dates are all £44.99 return - so could get 1 or 2 week return flight for £100.98 return .....
or Newcastle all Saturday dates 6 / 13 / 20 / 27 th August all £53.99 outbound and same dates £ 44.99 return hence a return flight would be £98.98

is Cyprus safe? I'm not scaremongering, just seen it's close proximity to Syria

Cyprus is split in too
South Greek side very safe. Large English Army base used to be there if not still there
North Turkish side can't comment on how safe there having never been but been south side a couple of times and I would say its safe and lovely

Can't say I agree with that..not compared to UK anyway....or do u just mean compared to past Cyprus prices?
We went last summer and there were some nice eating-out choices in Protaras....the best one possibly being Hippocampus on the main street ....excellent and very reasonably.
I could also recommend the Brilliant Apartments in Protaras...lovely clean, family friendly resort with nice pool and grounds.
Protaras had changed quite a bit between our 2 visits (10 years apart). Namely the influx of Russians. There were absolutely loads last July. Don't have anything bad to say about them, but they tend to be a lot more demanding when it comes to service than your average Brit...so you need to stand your ground in bars/restaurants if you want good service TOO :-)
Not sure of the full facts, but folk there said when Cyprus was in financial difficulty, it was primarily the Russians who stepped in to help out (not least because they already had a lot of money invested in property and banks there already). So it seems a lot of the beach front hotels are now Russian owned..and they certainly have a huge number of Russian tourists in them.

Is anyone else having what I am having saying having problems with payment system .

6 Jan 161#22
Yep, seems they're having all sorts of problems following a move in their IT systems - payments using Safari not currently working, though mine failed on Chrome first time...I called them, 15 mins wait time to customer services, managed to get confirmed online booking second time on Chrome while i was waiting for them to pick up! Oops, seems I have booked our holiday, huge thanks to poster :-)

I booked this earlier and after paying the outbound Manchester had gone from the £55.99 to £120.99 - I wasnt notified of the increase until the confirmation came through / anybody else have this issue ??

6 Jan 161#35
Yes......all booked....showed just over £1000 for flights for 4 x adults and 2 x kids,......paid.....confirmation states price paid was £2100+. It wasnt that price when payment was going through - only showed on confirmation. I had tried to book a different day earlier and it said prices had changed and took me back to the start to choose alternative dates. Didnt do that the second time even tho prices increased.
Have emailed customer services. Have you contacted them?

You well could be right as I haven't been in 5 years, used to go every year up until then speaking to locals they said introducing the euro had killed the way of living , locals couldn't afford anything properly value had tripled and a taxi driver said to me that he had to charge a minimum of €15 for the shortest journey now, the restaurant prices had also tripled since introducing the € but that was 5 years ago might be sorted now

Sorry to hear you've been stung, i would hope that with all the IT issues they're clearly having since their systems move they should certainly be sympathetic and at the very least refund everything to you with no charges. Suspect they have a 'get-out' clause for any such pricing issues meaning sadly they probably won't honour the prices you believed you had booked at, though, as consumers we'd certainly have more respect and loyalty if they did. I was on the forum at the time the deal came up and I feel the number of attempted bookings at that moment created a conflict in their system, possibly 'bumping' people in the process of payment into the next seat price category as you weren't alone in being overcharged, so this is clearly another one of their 'technical hiccups'. Really hope you get sorted with something satisfactory and one of the others posters can advise how they have resolved theirs.

Hi,
We had the same issue - but I spotted it as soon as we got the confirmation through.
The flights have more than doubled in price from what was quoted and what it said would be taken from my card.
The following day I called TC - it said there was a 25 min call queue - call didn't get answered for 2.75 hours - I kid you not! Appalling! The message at the start said that they had been having problems with IT and the website and changes in price - and said that unless you were travelling in the next week then you should hang up and call a week before your booking! The message was dates mid December! So they haven't made progress since then! Undeterred I held on. I explained to someone who said that as an act of goodwill they would refund what we have paid. I wanted them to honour the price it said it would be taking when I clicked to pay - but they wouldn't. Customer service was appalling.
They know the site was having issues when you bought these so stick with it and get your cash back. Say you know a few people who've had the same problem as you who have been refunded.
