We really do get our pants pulled down over here for stuff that is coppers in America. On a very recent trip to Vegas I was paying $40 a pair for Levi 505 1967 (much prefer them to 501s) which are a whopping £140 a pair over here - I bought 6 pairs in various shades. Pretty much everything in the Levi Jeans range was $40-50 in the likes of Macy's and JC Penney.
You maybe can't find them cheaper over here (a limited range of 501s is available for £40 in Costco), but you should be able to, there's no good reason for something to cost 3x the price here as it does across the pond. Might be worth buying from Macys online and copping for the customs charges to still save a bundle.

What sort of custom charges are we looking at? Is there any online calculator to work it out?

The prices of some British brand are rip off in US as well, common stuff.

I've always liked Levi's but the 2" leg size differences are too restrictive for me. I either have to have a pair too short or have the rears worn off by my shoe heals

Buy the larger size, Take them to a retail store and they will shorten them for free. I have this done once a year for summer to have pairs reduced to shorts!

"Sorry, you can order a maximum of 3 items of the same size". Huh?
Get this message when I try to add a second pair of waist 33 and leg 34 jeans. Different styles though.

When will retailers learn that if you have free returns but only offer me free delivery if I spend £x amount that I will just buy stuff I have no intention of purchasing, then return it just so I get your free delivery?

Majority of people will buy more to qualify for free delivery, and keep the items, look at Amazon and their minimum spend....

Yeah, I saw some on a display the entrance as I went in to get daughter's football boots - including odd shades and sizes of 501s.

Yeah, people do that on Amazon with items that cost less than the cost of delivery, just to boost their basket to £20.
You can't do there here when the jeans cost ~£40 at a minimum and you need to reach £75 and delivery is a lot less.

You can see it yourself at the checkout. they add shipping and custom charges. However, their international prices may be different (as per statement on their website) and they are. I've checked a few items on sale, but the sale wasn't applied to international orders meaning the items cost around 3 times more for UK orders :disappointed: you could try to use a company which specialises in shipping purchases to the UK, but Macy's is protected against this too - it says the card's billing address must be in US for US orders :disappointed:

Like many others i just buy half a dozen pairs when in the US, I'd never pay RRP for Levi's here. Not only that but the quality has vastly decreased while the price has remained massively inflated.
