Wonderful backup device for when your Nest heating controller fails to turn on your heating, again.

Hot when you're accessing it a lot or hot just plugged in?

Gets VERY hot in USB 3 when just plugged in. I only use this in USB 2.0.

Had mine for over a year and no problems. It get hot (although not to the point it could burn you) but quickly cools when removed from port.

3rd party seller. I've never heard of Baseconn.
I'd rather buy direct from Amazon. It's only £1 more and no chance of it being counterfeit since they buy direct from Sandisk.

Flash memory is not optimised for the frequent writes that running an OS will incur...
Best to use one of the pricey "Windows to Go certified" sticks unless you're happy for your USB stick to fail fairly quickly.

Usb is actually a recommended boot option for esxi. Hypervisors load mostly to ram so there won't be much writing to the Flash device. Now, if you boot from a full Windows 2008/2012 server with the hyper-v role installed, that's a different story. Stick to free hyper-v or Windows core install if you go down the hyper-v route and us a Windows to go device such as the kingston data traveller ultimate G3

Where do you put the code ? I went right to check out as a guest and no code box :-(
I have had a one of these booting Android on a Joggler 24/7 for 6 months , never failed yet , granted it does run a tad hot .
