Samsung site is even more confusing with pictures stating it has wireless lan built in. States it has smart features in the features section and then n/a under full spec.
Hopefully someone knows?
It alao has a quad core processor, which usually comes with series 6 smart tv's

Theres a few more reviews on the 50 inch version, but Argos reviews in general seem to be written by smackrats.

I saw that too mistafaz. Must be a new model, and maybe some in the 6xxx series are smart, but this 6100 certainly isn't for that low price.
No reviews, but it does state wifi is built in like it says on the Samsung website.
Quad core cpu probably for viewing freeview hd and playing files from usb stick.

And why would a 'dumb' tv need a quad core processor when it's effectively just a screen?

I think Tesco's wifi 'built in' means it's capable but you need to buy a dongle, same as Argos description. It's not a smart TV out of the box, but at £369 for the 50" I wouldn't care. Question is, is it any good?!
I have one. Bought about 3weeks ago for £579 - bummer. It is wifi compatible with a dongle but don't bother. The only functionality is to transmit digital signage to it - there are no smart functions whatsoever - I actually informed Argos of this and got a £79 discount. However, if you are after a quality panel, it delivers great pictures once set up properly and handles motion without issue. I don't use the built in tuner and feed it from a skybox F5s, a fire tv box, xbox 1 and a ProLiant microserver with no complaints. Sound is handled externally via AV amp, which also handles hdmi switching. All in all a good buy.

Why did Argos offer the discount? They've not made it out to be smart. Anyways, whats the viewing angle like?

The ad claims dlna compatibility - it is not dlna compatible. Viewing angles are good.

Ah they havent even corrected it. How's the sound from the standard 2 x 10 watts speakers, if you tried it before adding the amp?
I'm tempted by this but its still £170 more than the £199 Digihome 49 inch in Tesco. I'm using a freesat input so just need a good quality panel and half decent internal speakers. Plus I'd rather not embarrass my home with a Digihome branded set.

Just had a listen and to be honest sound is not too bad - lacks a bit of depth but not tinny - mind you, just watching the news. I replaced a 46 inch Polaroid I was perfectly happy with for 2 years with this and the difference is very noticeable especially around contrast, movement (scrolling banners on news channel an obvious example) and there is no shimmer on complex patterns. Colours are very vibrant, but natural. Recommend setting up with THX app or similar.

Just brought this TV on Saturday. Did some calibration and was looking good. If anyone is looking for a 55inch 1080p TV with no smart feature, this is a bargain @ £449.

Can you stick a usb drive in and record a programme?

I thought recording programs had died off now that streaming exists. I guess it's useful for channels that don't have BBC Player/ITV Player or if you have duff Internet speed.
Might answer some of these questions although the manual looks a tad generic (even though I went to the model's page on Samsung). Page 59 talks about WIFI

Very much so - recording HD content saves me a lot of time downloading on 4Mbit broadband (sad state of affairs I know...), so this function is handy really. Long may it continue to be part of device features!
