Just in case anyone was wondering what on earth NCT is..

I have this TV, picture is fantastic, 4K works great with my PC and Netflix/Amazon, has Bluetooth & WiFi, can't comment on the speakers though as I used a Yamaha SRT-1000 with it. Had some clouding initially, but after gently rubbing the screen in certain areas this is no longer the case. Viewing angles aren't fantastic, but I sit straight in front of it most of the time so I barely notice.
Great TV for the money.

I've heard about the rubbing of some TV screens do you think this is the case with all these types of TV?

Mainly edge-lit LED screens I think.

I too use a sound bar (mainly for movies) but for day to day tv viewing the built in speakers are excellent, a really nice clear projection of sound. Great TV !!!

Got this in the Black Friday sales and the TV is amazing!! The picture is great and when running it through Netflix to get 4K the picture is out of this world.

the Hisense k720 has full array local dimming, is 55" and only £668 delivered at AO.com. I've seen both and believe me despite the QD later that adds technically 5 -15% colour, the Hisense is a clear winner here

might not do 4k 4-4-4 chroma 60HZ. Response time for pc use might be very slow, this one must be superb if it is the same as the rest of the Samsung 2015 range. If I am not wrong this must be a non curved 55" Samsung UE55JU7500 which got the fastest response time in the 4k tv market at the moment.

you seem to understand the hisense power lol, I currently have a K321 50" but am considering upgrading to either the k720 curved 55" (though price is 699 at AO not 668?) or the K700 58" (699 at richer sounds at mo) Do you know if they are basically the same minus the curve? are both FALD?
trending1950
27 Dec 15#12
lol don't think the average user needs 444 4k 60hz but the Hisense actually does do it after the latest firmware update
didn't even need game mode for my reaction sensitive games so lag was no problem for me. Response time? of what - the menu's are very responsive
both good tv's but you really can notice the difference betweeen a FALD and non-FALD tv, espcially with blacks/contrast
just trying to tell folks of the value available

gaming response time and I been the owner of 2 4k TV's in the last few years. My conclusion is that if it cannot be used with a PC, I consider them useless and also not even good at replicating a 1080p picture as good as a proper 1080p tv

totally agree bluray on a native 1080p panel is still king. Enjoy your TV

they actually use practically the same panel but I prefer Samsung's images by far plus you get the wider color gamut via the QD layer.

is there a samsung tv in a smaller size, preferably in around 46 inches same model though
Do you know whether it's going to get a hdr update? I've heard that the cx700 produces more natural colours, do you have to adjust it quite a bit to get better colours on it? I feel like ill need to just look at both of them in store
the HDR update to my knowledge hasn't yet happened in our region however a reliabe reviewer in France has been told directly by Samsung it will get the update despite it's 8 bit panel. The display doesn't have the brightness to do HDR justice anyway but there's ADDED detail in HDR streams it's not all about brightness
the k720 is just over twice as bright (600 nits) as both of these tv's and is due a HDR update next year. Problem is you don't see them on display a lot so it's a bit of a risk however with it's full array local dimming (78 separate backlights individually controlling the picture where the panasonic has only 18 and has been proven ineffective, Samsung none) - you're in for a treat
you cannot go wrong with the k720 but Samsung do create a lovely picture that requires practically no tinkering most of the time. With the k720 you need to play with the settings but once you have it right, you have a beauty

a great deal but PC WORLD/CURRYS is the worst customer service ive ever had.
highly advisable to get this deal elsewhere, i would egeniunely pay £100 more elsewhere than have to deal with the shocking pc world customer service

Yeah I paid £698, but got Quidco at 15% that has tracked. I think it is around the £80 as it is after VAT.
Bargain of a price I have to say!!

Currys currently have the Sony KD-49X8309C for 699 (800hz version for 649 at coop) - someone has posted the deal already. Worth adding to the mix if you are looking for a new telly around that size, picture quality is amazing.

I did mention the Sony in an earlier thread, asking which was the best option between it & the Samsung, but no one answered. The Sony expert in Currys was raving about it & stating the samsung nano crystal is basically adding extra colours to try & compete with Sony, where their TV's colours are more natural. Gotta say, it was a decent pic.

The HDR update has been applied in the uk. I have watched HDR content from Amazon prime on the same model albeit 60"
