True, and I was considering posting that but you need to ring your local store for availability and delivery isn't included. With JL you can just order as at the moment there's more than 10 in stock and delivery is free.

I had this to delivered from richer sounds with the 6 year warranty for the bedroom. I have it hooked up with an Apple TV 4 and it's been brilliant for the price.

It was in stock on their web site. I guess it's out of stock at the moment. I paid something like £7 for next day delivery. It's been this price for over a month.

I bought one of these from, John Lewis just before Christmas for £279, it is a superb TV once you turn off the stupid auto screen dimming in the menu I always found the picture too dull with it turned on.
Tried to get one from the local richer sounds at the time it was only available in store but as always they did not have stock and was told stock was in the warehouse but you could not order on-line which seemed an odd way of doing things so I took the easy way and ordered from John lewis at the same price and a 5Yr guarantee.
Very happy with the TV the sound is really good too!

Hi,
Just buy a non-smart tv and buy a chromecast or kindle fire stick, both under £35 which will make it essentially a smart tv.
Saves a lot more than buying a smart tv and is more flexible.

Sorry, just had a look and couldnt find one either. Can only suggest you go off Amazon/JL reviews or see if a local retailer has one on display to view.
I bought one a few weeks ago for a friend but it's still boxed but will be setting it upin the next week or so? What is it you wabt to know?

Adding to what Bumbaclart said, Chromecast doesnt do Kodi but Firestick does/can - if its any use to you.
Really depends on what you want to do/view..

Just wanted to know how good the picture/sound is in comparison to other sets really. I think I will take the plunge but would be good to know your thoughts when you set it up.
Also can you record tv onto a USB with this tv? DVD capabilities etc. Just a general review
Thanks

In the last 12 months I have bought three 40" non smart Full HD TV sets; a Sony. A Panasonic and the Samsung featured here.
The sound on the Samsung is about the same as on the Sony which IMHO is very good, the Panasonic sound is just too low, cannot get enough volume.
Picture wise they are all very good but again I feel that the Samsung and Sony are better than the Panasonic.
As regards the guide and menu systems the Panasonic and Samsung are the best, the Sony guide takes ages to appear, the Panasonic is the fastest presenting the guide and the Samsung is just behind the Panasonic.
The worst remote is the Panasonic, it has just symbols and being small is difficult to use, both the Sony and the Samsung are good with the Samsung being the easiest to use.
So on balance If I had to choose my first choice would be the Samsung followed by the Sony.
You can record to a USB stick with the Samsung.

You're probably right, however some people would be happy to pay a little more for the additional 4 year warranty.

Good TV, but with 1 year old models such as the Samsung 40H6200 or 6400 available for £230-250 elsewhere in last week I am holding out and look for one of those TV's. They have 3D, Smart TV, and 4 x HDMI port slots, which makes it worth that bit more.

You can order it from CleverBoxes for £349.00 - not sure about this retailer though? Never heard of them.
Opening post
2 HDMI and 1 Usb port.
Edit @ 9.51pm - Delivery is free btw.
Update 02/01/2016 @ 13:51 - Now out of stock, but keep checking they do usually get more.
Update 15/01/2015 - back in stock & more than 10 available.
Not smart, but you could always add an Android box if needed.
