A real bargain in my opinion.
Yes, it's a refurb but it has no negative feedback and over 130 have been sold. All colours in stock for £219.95 to £219.99.
Ends tomorrow is £20 off selected Samsung phones. So it takes it down to £199.95/9.
The gold and blue are selling for £369.99 on Argos website and the Black and white £329.99. So a really good saving on either handset.
For those of you iffing and arring about a Refurb - so was I. But I thought to myself.
You have 30 days to change your mind. You will have to pay £4 to send it back but it's not a lot to lose when you could have a lovely S5 for a great price.
Secondly, if it is scratched the backs are £2.49 from ebay so that can be sorted out. If headphones are missing, these are also £2.49 from ebay.
Lastly, if (heaven forbid) it comes and it is in bad condition or has a fault then Argos HAVE to be responsible for returns. So you lose nothing. These phones have been manufacturer refurbished and listing states they are in EXCELLENT CONDITION.
All come with a 12 month warranty.
Hope this helps someone. I can't wait for mine and the hubby's to arrive.

That is your opinion, which is respected and valid of course. But there are many of us (myself included) who would prefer not to get an S6 by taking out a contract then cancelling airtime - or whatever else you have to do. For those who want a sim free option that they can stick their sim card in and away they go - with a phone that has expandable memory.....It might be just up someones street. Hopefully it will help someone, not you clearly, but it might help someone else. And that makes me happy! Merry feckin' Christmas

It's the better phone from a technical standpoint, but it's glass(!), a pain in a butt when it gets caught in a boot loop (as no removable battery), no microSD, whereas the S5 is waterproof, microSD, removable battery etc.
or £30 and get the G4. This isn't a good deal in my opinion.

Some people would rather have the waterproofing and expansion slot of the S5 not to mention being £60 cheaper and not having the faff of cancelling stuff with O2 - it's been proven time again that while you can cancel an O2 Refresh tariff, it's clearly not in the 'spirit' of it and very grey area; if O2 suddenly stopped allowing airtime cancellations so soon they would be well within their rights with little recourse.

My best friend has the S5, her husband has had the S6 and the edge and hates them both. He broke one with his belt and almost had to fork out £260 for a new screen. I like the S5  can't wait for mine to arrive. Plus it has been approved to receive the new Marshmallow update coming soon. So why not. £199.95 for a blooming decent phone is a good deal in my book. I had to share

A decent deal, but I would warn anyone tempted that the Argos warranty means you'll get your money back of there's anything wrong with it during the warranty period. They will not replace it, nor will they repair it. My S4 I bought from their Ebay site is being returned due to it killing the original battery plus the replacement I bought myself as Argos on Ebay will only do refunds.
That may not be an issue for many, but I found it frustrating that I've had to look fit an alternative replacement for the S4 because of this policy.

I agree this would be annoying for some but for many people this might actually be a blessing. Ive had tech items from Argos break and even though I would of preferred a refund I was told them sending it off to be repaired was my only option. That was with their breakdown cover. I really wouldn't mind having my money back, all my essentials, numbers/photos etc get backed up and apps and things can always get downloaded again so a refund would be better in my eyes. Can definitely see it being a pain in the backside for some though!

I loved my S3, did not like S4, got S5 and completely lost will with samsung phones... They release new phone just with minor upgrade in hardware and buggy firmware expecting people pay premium for nothing! At least when you buy apple products you get full feature polished product! My friend owns an s5 and loves it but the glass covering the rear camera lens keeps breaking. Apparently it's a known fault? Does the Neo have the same issue?
I was reading up about the two processors and while the s5's is certainly faster, it's more likely to overheat while the Neo's is slower but stays cool. Is this true?

"We will carefully test every item before shipment."

Any advice welcome

Aside from being random, that's also pretty sexist - even if you are saying it yourself as a woman!
Anyway, phones yeah?
kaykayrocks
28 Dec 15#55
Why? I am saying it's nothing for me.....and affirming the fact I am a woman. I never said ALL WOMAN ARE ARGUMENTATIVE. So why are you being so pedantic? Anyway, yes. Back to phones, no need to say to people they are arguing hard on a post. Joy to all men and all that.....oh wait, is that sexist too?
schnide
28 Dec 15#57
So if you're not implying that being a woman makes you more likely to be argumentative, why did you mention the fact that you were a woman? Am I missing something?
And no, that last comment wasn't sexist. I can find a reference for what the word means if you're confused. I'm not being pedantic - you posted a deal that wasn't as great as perhaps you were hoping it would be taken, and seem intent on countering everyone who says so. That's got nothing to do with your sex or gender, but for some reason you've raised that (whilst continuing to prove how argumentative you are as an individual).
So I'll ask again - what has you being a woman got to do with you posting a deal about a phone and arguing about its merits, when you've implied, intentionally or otherwise, that women have a tendency over men to be argumentative?

Out of curiosity - how do you override a boot loop other than take the battery out? I had a s3 mini that would have crazy episodes of turning itself on, turning itself off so rapidly that I could do nothing but take the back off. If that happened on the S6 how would you stop it?

My husbands Blue one and my white one arrived this morning as promised  can't really fault anything!!! They were in original boxes with manuals etc. They both contained USB charging cables and although the boxes were a little ripped due to the stickers being on it, it was in very good condition. The phones - both were immaculate. My white one had stickers still over the screen, and around the casing. No scratches at all, no marks, nothing! I am really happy. Mine was only on 11% so had to charge it right away, my other halfs was 90% on arrival. Both work fantastically. Whether or not we are just lucky I don't know. I am just waiting on the arrival of my microsim as I've had the sam sim card and number for 15 years and i'm rather attached to it so although I've set up my phone I cant really comment on the full function of mine until my sim card arrives. My husbands phone however works a treat, everything works, camera is amazing! The sound is really impressive. Very loud via speaker and via headphones. Comparing it to our old s3 minis is laughable. Overall we are very happy with our phones. We were expecting to be disappointed and have to send them back but truthfully, we are extremely over the moon with them. Will try and upload pictures to prove how great they are

I received an S5 via this deal at the end of December and it was in really good condition; the only flaws were a few very tiny scratches on the bezel band and a small 1mm x 2mm imperfection at the top of the screen between the glass and bezel. It worked absolutely fine for a the first week but suddenly the earpiece speaker stopped working. I tried to find a fix online, tweaked some settings and did a factory reset but the problem persisted. Sadly, after getting really attached to the 4G and the general speed of the thing, I arranged the return today :disappointed: . I am confident of getting all my money back but I'm now thinking of purchasing another. If other buyers have had good or bad experiences would they leave their feedback here, it would be nice to hear that my case is a rare one. If so I might buy again once my money is back in my account.

As mentioned before, me and my hubbys phones both work a treat. There was nothing wrong with either of them on arrival, no scratches at all, no marks, nothing. The boxes were tatty though. Weve had them for a few weeks now and can report no problems. Batteries work fine. I get 3 days out of mine but the hubster gets 2 at a push. He's a gamer though and plays music on his night shift which might explain why he doesn't get as much as me. We really love them and would recommend them to anyone. We did umm and arr for ages before taking the plunge, but it's paid off for us. We chose blue and white models. My white being in brand new condition. Even down to still having all stickers on the screen and around the sides. Fingers crossed your next one is a gem
