Samsung Galaxy Note 4 - in White - New - from Amazon UK.
Top quality phone, had mine since launch, and paid a fair bit more than this for it.
Oo Amazon seem to be messing around with the pricing atm - might be £363.99, might be £359.99.

if I didn't need the pen.... this or the LG G4? advice please as the G4 has been floating around the 280 mark at ebuyer... or 230 at Vodafone ( but unlocking was a problem) also some reliability issues with some G4's dying ...
I haven't looked at the note 4 issues yet..
would love to hear your thoughts.
cheers.

Unlocking the G4 isnt a problem but it does come with a lot of Vodabloat. I personally prefer the G4 as I came from the G2 and the screen is a lot nicer than the SuperAmoled screen of the Note 4 IMO. Size wise theyre about the same. I think they're about as good as each other but the cheaper G4 is better value.

Blackberry PRIV- physical keyboard

Blackberry Priv has a stock Android operating system, similar to basic phones like Motorola and other standard brands. Physical Keyboard is of course the only advantage the BlackBerry Priv offers, and that's about it. No match at all for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

IMO, the better screen (AMOLED), and better battery life, are what the Note 4 has over the G4, and to me they're quite important features.

I had a look at the G4 and the Note 4 side by side. Both phone have over saturated screens but the whites are pure white and not light green on the G4. I was all set for the G4 before i got a chance to compare them. In my opinion the G4 has the brightest, cleanest most colour accurate screen on any phone and the slightly oversaturated colours look nice to me. Regardless, anyone looking to buy either the G4 or Note 4 should take the time to compare them side by side. Heat added to the deal.

I have this phone for work and love it although I would not get one myself as it's too big for jeans pockets (fits ok in my works trousers).
I really notice the difference going back to my S5 after using it.

Note 4 has a few 'Colour' settings, the default is called Adaptive and is usually over-saturated and bright, if you change the settings to AMOLED Photo or Basic, they're much nicer and more accurate.

I was playing with the front camera on a demo unit yesterday and the photos looked badly Photoshopped, like someone tried to blend skin tones on the person's face and failed. Is that the camera quality or a camera setting trying to "correct" the image?

Might be the 'Beautify' camera setting for selfies going OTT.

what about the speed of the note 4?... my G3 was underpowered for the screen and its only gone down hill. that's why I'm looking for an upgrade..
I'm sure it needs a format and reinstall

The only thing slow about the Note 4 is going from the Camera to the Gallery app, which takes a few seconds to open - and a few seconds feels like a lifetime when all you want to do is show someone a photo
Also the multitasking button takes a short pause to pop up the open apps, but apart from that, in normal general use the phone is smooth.

G4 is much better value if you don't need a pen.
I don't think it's a good deal on value basis. Note 4 is overpriced for an old phone. Still heated because I simply love my Note 4.

Great phone. Personally I'd spend £35 more and get a nexus 6p.

note devices hold their value better than any other branch of android devices.

I think you'll find that the Backberry has focused a bit more on security additions to the stock Android. The physical keyboard is nice from the reviews I read, not only to convince existing BB users to upgrade. Samsung pen devices are marketed for jotting notes and graphics. Different markets.

Please pay a bit more and get the Nexus 6P! I had a note 4 for the past 18 months and you will get sick of waiting for updates and sick of touchwiz. Just my two cents
Hopefully it does as the 805 in the note 4 is basically where the heating and throttling problems with Snapdragon began and culminated in 810. At this point its an overpriced device.

Still don't understand why any phone or tablet should be over £200? They cost very little to make and batteries are still awful.

Galaxy Note are such a good phone, easily my favourite over the years, beats iphone And is best Samsung. If size isn't an issue, get this phone at this price, it's great kit, so many neat little features, unique to 'note', I have an S6 now, the note is so much more. HOT!!

Had this but after three months noticed screen burn. Also had constant dropped calls. Handset turned out to be dodgy but the screen really put me off. Had the same issue with my S4. After three months the screen problem was a joke.
Other than that, the phone is great value at this price. Micro SD removable battery...

I will happily sell mine (locked to EE I think but have to check) with a few bumpers and cases and the wireless charging back and kidigi dock for £300. But it is rooted so no Samsung Pay if it ever emerges.

Big issue with Samsung is the crapware they force on you and that you can't uninstall. Latest download rammed down the throat of my Note 3 is a forced installation of a "My EE" app onto my phone, regardless of whether I'm an EE customer or not (I'm not and never have been). And that's just one of several (other examples being Bloomberg, Chat On etc).
Yes, you can disable them but they still take up space. And it's my phone - what's on it should be my decision
The My EE app is the final straw - I'm upgrading to a Nexus 6P
Just bear that in mind if you're considering this bloatware-ridden phone

If enough people complain to Ofcom then maybe something could be done about it.
In China, Samsung were forced by the regulator to provide tool for removing crapwares.
