Found this instore half price from £50 down to £25. For that price, bang it in the kid room or the bedroom. Decent reviews online. Smart features aswell as being 3D playable.

Popped into a large branch this afternoon and had the young lady on customer services check for stock. Discontinued and no stock locally or further afield from her check on their system. Price was £25.

None in Gloucester store, but the lady showed me the computer screen that showed it a £25, but the model mentioned was F5500, not the H5500.

I don't agree with that. The difference being that 4K is legitimatelly good whereas 3D was lackluster in a lot of applications that utilised it (Only Avatar really). 2016 is pretty much the year when it will start to boom with new content, its VR which I think people are over hyping though. Just don't see the big deal in that :disappointed:

I have this model and not only will it work from your Samsung Tv remote, but it also works from a Sony W9 series tv remote. I'd therefore guess it's compatible with other Sony TV's remotes.

Just went into a Sainsburys and saw 3 on a shelf with shelf edge label saying £50. Took it to Customer Services were she scanned it and initially said £25 then scanned it again to double-check (not at my request) and said £50.

I'm not taking the P but if it got scanned twice the total of two £25 scans would be £50. Even if the staff member thought she had cancelled the first scan, she accidentally might not have. I've never known an item change price by scanning it twice.

As per other comments above, I and many others have had difficulties getting various models of Samsung blu ray player to play the more up to date blu ray discs. Wrote to Samsung but even downloading the most recent firmware updates does not cure the problems. So I bought a Panasonic instead which appears to play all discs with no problems.

I wouldnt worry about all the hype regarding 3D,4k,Oled,8k,etc and so on and so on,all tv`s are usually outdated within 3 years of purchase anyhow these days no matter what you buy.
Paid £1800 for a samsung curve 55" 4k 3D all singing all dancing tv in november from richer sounds and its already been reduced by £600 with a newer model in the range on the way..WTF?:disappointed:

I work in the AV industry and you're right. If you don't have 3D by now, you never will, it was a flyby gimmick, just like 4K currently is - We're only a short amount of years off 8K...

Bought my daughter this model for Christmas 2014. It's a very nice bluray player. Worth the £50.00, even better for £25.00.
You have to post it on somewhere like Photo Bucket. It's a bit of a pain in my opinion. Come on HOTDEALS mods. Time for you great guys to make it easy for us who want to post pics from our desktop and other folders instead of having to upload somewhere like photobucket.

Don't plan on playing many discs on this thing. I've had this four years now and the thing refuses to play all our Disney discs and many others too. Needs constant updating to try and get it to work again, but even then it still refuses to play most of the time. I just use my playstations to play discs without any issues at all. Shame really, because it's a nice player when it does work.
