This is the top specification Revo one for almost half the RRP. Unbeatable.

these are fantastic - I too bought the £99 black Friday one and I log into it remotely every single day - it's online 24/7 and acts as a plex server as well as my forex trading platform.
it is completely silent and the power usage is tiny - absolutely perfect for what I need it for - the best £100 I've spent in years!
i'd probably have spent a little more for more performance, but don't think I could have stretched to this. fantastic machines though and the future of computing hopefully

Not that I can see mate?, the nearest to what your suggesting is this:
Acer Revo One RL85 mini PC Intel i3 4GB 500GB inc Remote was £349 now £229 using code TDX-LKJ3 (Click & Collect) @Tesco Direct
A much pricier Product to what you stated ..... lol.
Or you have a link to the one you were rather referring too?, thanx. :-)

I'm not seeing any purpose for this machine except for streaming movies to your TV. Any other benefits?

You would be certifiable if you paid this much just to do that.

A great desktop replacement for many typical users.

Did you remove the Acer bloatware?

this is a great price. Just ordered.
Then I see the tesco offer for the i3 version for £180. So I've ordered that as well.
I'll send this one back
Much as I'd love the 4TB and a SSD and i5 processor and 8GB ram, will I really notice the difference when using it for some office stuff and mainly movies / TV?

Maybe I'll keep this one and send the Tesco one back.
I'm upgrading from an Acer Revo 3700, which has an atom D525 processor, so the i5 will be quite a leap in performance. But then so would the i3.
I'm no good at making decisions.
Or am I?

I love the look of these, wonder if the cheap i3 one would be good enough for using virtual dj and fruity loops hmmmm

Why are you assuming people will just use this for media or a basic tv? It's basically a small but powerful desktop if room is a problem for you

That is a great price. If it supported dual monitors without adapters I'd be on this. Hot!

It does, if you have a displayport compatible screen. Displayport adapters and cables aren't that expensive now though

Need the storage space but. One I got is a newer i3, 7x storage space and has twice the ram for just over £100 more. Although if all you need is a pc to stream tv and web browsing then that would be fine. It's primarily the storage I'm looking at.

I suppose I could always sell the 4TB hard drives but I keep looking, more in hope than expectation, for a 500gb version of this model for roughly £80 less. Not everyone wants 4TB of storage but the i5 5200U with HD 5500 graphics is a nice incremental bump up from the previous generation, albeit still a not very powerful ultrabook part, compared to a regular desktop computer's CPU, though the advantage of that is that it uses little energy. Hopefully the current price drop means a Skylake version is due soon, particularly now NUC have at last released an i3 Skylake model, with an i5 apparently coming out in February.
I'm sure that 4TB storage will be welcome to some, I'm a big fan of tiny PCs and I think it's not a bad deal, especially if you prefer that agreeably tiny size to a laptop. If you haven't seen the Acer Revo before and want to check it out first, some branches of John Lewis stock them, though not at that price.
This seems to be a good teardown video for those who want to replace the storage, memory or wifi card:-
Bad when considering the Black Friday deal which was less than £100. Yeah I know the spec is higher on this but nobody needs that.

Ordered the i3 version of this with same spec for 300 is it worth returning and paying 30 more for the i5?
Mainly looking to use for headless plex media centre duty, and blu Ray rips/encoding, would these be up to the job or should I go with something more beefy/using 3.5" drives?
