Good price for this phone. Please Mind like all other phones with Snapdragon 810, Z3+ have some overheating issues. Iam not sure if it was fixed with software updates.

Sorry where have you gotten the Idea that refurbished is related to the software?
Refurbished means to renovate or recondition, meaning to make it appear better than it was..
With electronics, refurbished generally is a term to explain its been return to as close as new condition.. but it in no way means it will be like new..
grade B generally you can expect some use, light marks etc.. screens are generally good condition.
You get grades fro example
OPEN BOX - usually brand new, just box is opened, or contents removed and replaced.
A, A1, A+ - Usually Mint condition, may have slight signs of use.
B, C, D, Scratched, Scratch & Dent - these are where the product will exhibit use in varying degrees.

You are seriously having a laugh trying to compare a grabe B against a refurbished from a reliable supplier.

Mine arrived today - unmarked and in original box. Getting warm as it is downloading all my apps but not as hot as I expected from the claims. Beautiful phone, certainly keeping it. Thanks to the original poster of the deal.

Probably because your command of the English language isn't great. I am not sure why you would want to buy a non brand new phone that hasn't been refurbished as opposed to one that has.

My wife's the same. But had 2 refurbished items, and both have been fine (That said, my Sony camera was supposed to have been "refurbished" but it was just brand new no sign of use whatsoever, and the test I was given off a feller on here showed it had NEVER taken a picture !)

2nd hand - more often worse condition than refurbs

I guess if you can return it if not happy then its okay.
Argos clearance bargains put me off refurbs when I had a look at the Z2's they had and each one was covered in scratches. Presumed the battery would have been well used too, so i just bought new.

The original xperia Z has been superceded by the Z1, Z2, Z3 and Z3+ so you get all of the improvements in each of the incremental upgrades in one go. I have the Z1 and that's enough different from the Z to be worth it. It'll be thinner, lighter, better display, better battery and faster chip.
You could press Ctrl+F and search "z3+" to find it.

Don't buy this phone. The overheating is a real issue and drains the battery life badly. Camera is buggy, poor audio quality. Read the Amazon reviews

The term refurbished doesn't mean what it used to mean, nothing can really be fixed anymore and you can't even take these phones apart easily so the notion these have been repaired is somewhat untrue. They basically gave it a clean and reset the software... so if the exterior is trashed it will be trashed.

Hi
Very good review. Still has heating issues even after a update. Shame, as I really like this phone. Ah well, looks like I'll be sticking to my refurbished (like new when I got it, so nothing wrong with refurbished phones) Nexus 4.

To actually get back on point,
I've had my z3+ from launch date and it's been a great phone, yes the "overheating" issue is still on it but given its waterproof just dunk it in the sink for a few seconds, I genuinely couldn't consider upgrading to the Z5 apart from a fingerprint scanner and a slightly better camera the Z3+ packs just as much if not more than the Z5 std.
brookysm to joshkearnss
16 Jan 16#39
Eh? The Z5 is equal or better in every way over the Z3+, there's nothing that the Z3+ does better than a Z5 except perhaps keep your hands warmer....

Your very misinformed. Refurbished can also mean a customer has returned a no fault unwanted item (retailers can't resell as new). Also i would be happy to buy i.e a refurbished phone that was a week old that developed a fault and was fixed and resold (you get the same warranty as the manufacturer).
Get two of these and you'll have rechargeable toastie makers.

15 Jan 16#15
Refurbished means the software was knackered but it's been repaired, therefore not new and it depends how good of a repair was done on it, no where near new. I'd rather have a B Grade than refurbished for piece of mind

I have contacted Scan to check the condition of the phone, you can keep your second hand damaged one.

15 Jan 162#19
Are You beeing serious? Repaired what? Matbe some, but most will be customer returnes due to changed mind. Refurbished can be even Brand New phone in Open Box. How second hand can be any different, better than refurbished? To be honest selling Z1 to cex few days ago, when i was sure i will get grade B, they gave me grade A. I would be honestly affraid to buy anything grade A from them online. B is No No. Unless You can see phone in the shop.

:laughing::laughing: you troll, i wouldn't want a refurbished phone just as much as one that has been dropped in water and dried. Refurbished means its had something done to it like for example the software reinstalled. And how dare me question if that was done professionally or not. Who knows, you could be going back to the shop with technical errors two weeks later

15 Jan 16#14
Oh dear. I know refurbished isn't new. These are likely to be customer returns in the original box. Refurbished however would suggest that some action has been taken to improve the condition of a used item, rather than a Grade B from CEX which will show pretty significant signs of use. Bless you.

The only way they can fix this via software is by throttling performance right back, the Z5 has much better physical cooling to combat the issues.

Bit of a lemon this, personally I'd either go for a Z3 or wait till the Z5 drops in price a bit more.
