Absolute junk compared to what they used to be, I sent 2 back as warm up to take a pic was 30 seconds !
Most of the replies are disagreeing though. I suspect the OP had a faulty one.

Why do these cameras have that silly delay just before the photo is taken, it's super hard to get the picture you wanted when your working with kids or wildlife, So no thanks to this one.

It's longer when inside for this camera and the flash is also, pants
Can anyone recommend a camera with flip out screen that is good quality then if this one isn't at taking pictures but more importantly for me video.

I'm hoping for good things this week at CES in the form of a back to their old ways TZ80.

although Panasonic produce a load of cameras every year that are no better (or worse) than the 3 or 4 they made 5/6 years ago

I sent 2 back and friends who had the same camera had same problem, i previously owned five Lumix modes, before and they were great, this mode, is just horrid... Anyone buys it will regret
And yes, latest firmware, battery charged and a good memory card

nothing that a usb or card reader on your laptop wont sort plus the pics are better in models 7 to 10.
its just panasonic trying to reinvent what the have achieved already but the pics get worst in the later models

Good price for a super zoom compact. Do the TZ's still come with Leica glass?

Had several of TZ's in the past but this one is awful. It might be cheap but takes ages to take a pic and is very frustrating. No Leica lens either.
You get what you pay for... It seems that Panasonic have decided to be a budget brand.

Paid £99 new for one of these (From Argos), for a cheap camera the video quality is rather good and the flip up screen helps a lot, I use it when it's damp or wet so I don't damage my good camera.
