Got my Pi2 from Amazon recently, and have been looking at gearbest for some goodies and noticed they have the Pi2 on flash sale.
A whole £2.60 cheaper than the current cheapest which is Currys/Amazon @ £25.99.
Whether or not you feel the slower delivery time is worth the £2.60 is up to you.
42 pcs and 5 days remaining at this price.
edit: fixed my maths errors. ;)

Do yourself a favour and pay a couple of quid more and get it from a decent UK seller.

I ordered mine from flubit last Sunday (Using the Amazon.co.uk link) , and it was delivered on Tuesday
It costed £23.24.
I voted hot for the price, but take into account what other users mentioned: It will take weeks before you see this one being delivered as it comes from China. If you go down this route remember you can use TopCashBack (so probably Quidco too) for a further discount (Probably about 6% if Iremember well).

has anyone seen the single board computers coming out this year? they'll blow pi out the water!

They might if enough developers get on board. That's what makes the pi great.
As far as this deal is concerned though, I ordered a pi from gearbest on the 2nd December, and am still waiting. Not worth it to save a couple of quid - not to me at least.
Edit: not voted either way.

They do if what you want to do is play Top Trumps with spec numbers. Plenty of SBCs already have "better" specs than Pi, but that's not what it's about.

I have just bought one from Amazon. i will be running Kodi on it.
will the new stuff be cheaper than Pi 2? and when are they coming out?
I don't regret buying it now, Kodi runs fast enough, don't know the prices of the new ones, don't know when they will come out and don't know how easy would be to install Kodi on it.
I might buy them things anyway to play with but cannot possibly regret paying £26 for Pi 2.
Do yourself a favour and pay a couple of quid more and get it from a decent UK seller.

I'm not sure if this makes much difference to the build quality but the gear best ones are manufacturerd in China, the CPC ones in the UK.

Do the Chinese ones still have a red board as they are not CE certified? Or has that changed with the new model?

Owning an emulator is completely legal.
owning ROMs (i.e. a "copy" of a game) that you don't own the original of, however, is *not* legal.
It's a bit of a grey area though really, much like recording the top 40 off the radio on a casette back in the 80s.

For those looking to buy from Amazon, you might want to try Flubit. I got mine through them for £22.78 delivered when Amazon/Currys had it for £25.99.

The emulators are legal, it's the ROMs/images which are questionable in legal terms.
As long as they aren't supplying it preloaded with ROMs/images then its perfectly legal.

I'd be wary about ordering from Gearbest. I ordered an Android media player just over a week ago which indicated shipping in 3-5 days. I paid for expedited delivery and insurance just to get it here quicker. As of last night, it was still listed as 'processing' and therefore I fired off an email enquiry to be then told that they have supply issues and expect to receive stock in 7-15 days. However, they are still indicating that they have stock of the device I ordered and you can still buy it from their site.
Just don't trust their stated delivery times.

im not talking about top trumps with numbers mate, I'm talking dual bootable octa core cheaper devices. I didn't post this comment to play top trumps I posted because I'm not up to speed with pi's programming and am genuinely interested in peoples opinions on future devices
For a lot of people who use the pi, the spec of future devices is *fairly* irrelevant - as androoski alluded to, its not about another machine with more cores or a fast USB, at a certain level the Pi will do all that a lot of people need it to. The exceptions to this are people who use it as an entertainment device (retro gaming or kodi or the like). For the rest of us, it is a a simple computer that can run dumb-little processes and entertain us - we don't need the extra speed in many cases what we do need is a stable OS and a community where we can get our questions answered, and thats what we get with teh pi - its just not guaranteed with any other supplier.

Surely if this sd card loaded with free open source emulators is sold then they also have to release any modifications to them the same way they got them, ie free.
The case is mini itx with a rpi/odroid sitting in it, the size of the case kinda defeats the purpose using a small board like rpi/odroid does it not.

They have gone with the case to fit the rpi/odroid with a built-in DVD-RW drive so people can use their own disc software from Amiga CD32, Sony PlayStation, Sega Saturn*, Sega CD*, TurboGrafx* and more
Would never buy anything from gearbest again. Nothing ever turns up! Customer services are impossible to deal with. If you actually want it buy it from a UK seller.

I don't get it, why are these so expensive vs a similar specced cheap phone that has a screen and battery plus all the other crap that comes with them.
Thought they were meant to be about a tenner each when they started?

Yeah, you can do that, but as I said before, I'm interested in where they take this with the software which they are investing in.
