Still £25 elsewhere. I'm currently using this product & am very impressed with the ease the paper is coming off. Though this is the first time I've ever decorated so can't compare to anything else.

+1 for a rotary scorer. Bought this stripper plus a scorer and made easy work of my walls.
A 4 kw machine may be better if you have big rooms or do a lot of decorating but for £12 this is ideal.

Correct, the lower power ones are really slow to cover large rooms with.
For woodchip I also use one of these rotary scorers http://www.toolstation.com/shop/p75359?table=no
before steaming.

2000w is not powerful enough, still hot but I recommend going for 4000w

Some wallpaper is an absolute nightmare to get off and in my experience, these tools are essential in those cases and they also make light work of the other stuff.

Extreme wallpaper stripping? Is this a new craze?
I thought this was bad enough. Would certainly make this more challenging.

why is this thing even needed? Take up a roller, soak it up with water, brush the old wallpaper so its soaking wet, wait 5mins and just peal it off, watched some YT videos about this thing and Its much faster with the above method not this useless device which isnt even needed...

Lol. Don't think you've done much wallpaper stripping.
In some instances soaking will work but if you're tackling ancient woodchip wallpaper stuck on with superglue then I'd use a steam stripper every time.

i'm guessing you have never tried one.
i used to use the technique you mentioned until someone loaned me one of these (different brand). i will stick with using steamers, as the make life so much easier and, for me, so much faster.
