As Staplar says, play an Internet radio station over the speaker using the allplay radio app, then press and hold the preset you want to program. I have two of these set up as left and right speakers in a group to make them stereo, and when I play a radio preset it plays on both speakers without needing the app.

Just finally getting round to setting mine up, impressed so far, and the app, isn't to bad to use. Just a quick question regarding internet radio, how do you set it up?I see that you can choose the presets in the app, but how do you find a station to apply to a preset?
STAPLAR to donkeydavid

Use the AllPlay app as your source, select the radio channel, then hold down the preset button you want to assign it to for 4 seconds until you hear the beep and your done.

It may be that
As it was fresh from the shop I can only assume that there is an internal battery to keep the memory settings and it didn't have time to charge. May have to unplug it over the weekend and see what happens ...

I think JL are being a bit cheeky - although the price has gone up to £169.95 (white only) they still list it in their clearance offers !
Managed to pick up the last one in Richersounds Watford yesterday - they were also doing them for £99 in Currys but I refuse to do business with them unless I have to - also noticed they are out of stock now and the price is now £129. Really wanted 2 but 1 will have to do - at least it's small enough to be portable between rooms if needed - but you do lose the presets and alarm settings if unplugged.

Can this speaker stream music, via wifi, on its own from the internet or does another source have to connect to the streaming site and then pass it on to the speaker?
adyjoy to shalton
6 Jan 16#48
once you've configured the presets with an app, it can play up to 6 Internet radio stations just by using the buttons on the speaker. Otherwise you need an app to start the music streaming, although I think it actually plays Internet and local network sources directly to the speaker (I was able to switch off my phone once I'd queued some tracks)

Have set my ALL2s up today as well. At first had problems due to wifi problems (had an access point set up with WPA not WPA2 - eek!), but once I sorted that out it and reset the speakers all seems solid. Am having good experiences with the All play Jukebox app from Qualcomm; as well as being a jukebox that lets you set up a queue of music from mixed sources (on device, on dlna/kodi, and seemingly on network services such as spotify), it also let's you add to the same queue for music from multiple devices - party on, dude :-) . Got an ALL1 very cheap from Currys, and have been walking from the kitchen to the lounge to hear the same music grinning like an eejit!
The ALL2 will also 'broadcast' it's bluetooth and aux inputs onto the rest of the speakers in its group. Me likey.
Oh, and Windows media player will also natively stream to the speakers from a pc/laptop without needing an app...

Just collected my 2 today, a breeze to setup, as a test I set radio2 playing held down the preset 1 button for 4 seconds. Turned off the iPhone and the speaker, powered speaker back on and pressed preset 1 and I git radio 2 loud and clear. The app is pretty basic, but the speakers sounds great and the build quality is excellent.

I have a few questions about these speakers and would be grateful if anyone can answer:
can it be connected to an A/V unit (possible using the all1c or Bluetooth)
how is the speaker powered ?
adyjoy to zackariah
4 Jan 162#41
Although none of the glossy pictures on the Panasonic Web site show it, this unit has a mains power cable. (there's even a picture of one on a coffee table in the middle of a lounge!)
The music sources are bluetooth, aux in, dnla server, or (a couple of) mobile apps (which also provide a very few online streaming apps such as spotify).
The description of the radio presets suggest the unit doesn't need the mobile app to play Internet radio presets (I hope so, or my two are going straight back to amazon).
You could feed this via aux in or a bluetooth transmitter attached to your stereo, and I understand that this can then be transmitted by the connected ALL2 to other ALL SPEAKERS.
If you want your stereo to become an ALL speaker (i.e. play music from another ALL2 speaker) you need the ALL1, which isn't actually a speaker, and won't let you feed music 'into' the ALL network...
Make sense? ;-)

How does this compare to the Sonos Play 1 sound wise?
occamsrazor to whatupyo
3 Jan 16#40
I listened to this and the Sonos Play 1 side by side in Currys and was surprised that, as standalone units, this had a more rounded full sound compared to the flat tones of the Sonos. The reason I was so surprised was because the Sonos Play 3 blew both the Panasonic All 3 and All 8 out of the water sound wise.
If I had the funds available I would buy two x Sonos Play 3 but if on a budget I'd take the All 2 over the Play 1.

Just bought one of these as I needed a speaker in the bedroom but couldn't justify the outlay on another Sonos component that will never be synced with the rest of the house. Its great as a cheap internet radio with a clock, alarm, sleep function and presets, that can also do Spotify connect, bluetooth and has an Aux-in. Couldn't find anything close to that functionality for the price. The hardware is nice, it sounds ok (Play:1 much better however) and it was easy to set up.
Would urge significant caution for anyone looking to use these as a proper multiroom setup however; The updated Panasonic app is just about serviceable; The Qualcomm apps are unfortunately truly appalling. The Qualcomm radio app is essentially useless on my Galaxy S5. Panasonic must be absolutely livid that Qualcomm are screwing over their whole system from the software side.
Overall, a nice clock/internet radio with Spotify connect. I'd run a million miles from a multiroom setup of these though, that's just asking for trouble; Stick to Sonos!

It can link to the All3 Soundbase to do surround if you want it - not sure about using them on their own though. Curry's do the All3 soundbase, and you can buy two All2's and get £150 cashback.
That said, I was pretty disappointed with the All3 so I'm returning it. Still going to give the All2's a go.

I got one of these in Currys today. Plugged it in and synced it into my wifi network tonight- very easy. The sound is really good for our lounge, which admittedly isn't the biggest. The app seems easy to use. So far I have only used music on my phone, but will endeavour to link up other online services this weekend. I was considering the Sonos Play 1, but at less than half the price, and with Bluetooth should I ever any it, I felt this was the better option for me. Plus the clock feature is nice, being that I have to turn my head to the left and up to see the clock in our lounge from the sofa - yeah, bad place to put it.
