New stock of this excellent wet and dry shaver, not as cheap as the previous deal but at £34.50 and free delivery it's a bargain for what is a very good and we'll made shaver. Beats the pants off the Braun series 3 340s which I used to have!

No, you really need to use foil shavers every day...... Rotary shavers are better for longer whiskers.
But neither are as good as a wet shave with a blade.

Mine arrived today and have to say, after a first shave with it, I'm quite impressed. Certainly a quicker, noticeably (by me and girlfriend) closer shave than my Braun (I'm a geek and shaved half my face with one and half with the other, just to test it properly ). And it's a country mile better than the Braun with the new style blade block in it.

Mine has just arrived. It looks and feels fine and is now on charge. I must say I'm slightly disappointed to find that you can only charge it in the stand i.e. you can't plug the charger lead straight into the shaver. This means that for extended trips I'll need to take the charging stand with me, which isn't ideal!

It would, definitely. The higher cutting speed means a much closer shave which, unlike the Braun series 3, doesn't seem to diminish over time.

Think I might have to snap this up. Was pretty happy with my rather old Braun 5775 (equivalent to a 3 series as far as I'm aware), but having bought a new blade block and finding it's been redesigned so the blades are at a right angle to the foil (instead of straight up) it's not giving half as close a shave.
I'm presuming this would be a considerable upgrade given the previous 3 series comments here?

The 3 series Braun i have has a sound that is more of a buzz, whereas the Panny has a higher pitched whine like buzz. I reckon its because the panny has a faster motor. Putting a couple of small drops of oil on the foils of the panny makes it quieter.

I ended up buying the braun offer followed by this Panasonic. The Panasonic wins hands down for the closer shave. However, ar least my Panasonic seems to have a very loud piercing sound. Is it faulty??
nihcaj to mubashar
16 Jan 16#57
Mine is louder than the Braun, and the two speeds switching on and off all the time gets on my nerves a bit so I tend to use it in the faster mode only, but not piercing, so maybe yours is not right?

bought this deal (thanks op) as cheaper than new blades and battery for my ES7101. Seems very good. Lovely close shave, mostly on first pass. Hard to say if any better than the 7101 is with new blades in it, but it's much lighter and more compact. Head doesn't tilt but that makes no difference. Would be a good travel option if it could be charged out of the cradle, but should hold enough charge for most of my trips.

The cleaning station is more than a gimmick, its a device to make you buy their rip off priced cleaning solution to go in it..... its as much of a con as multi blade cartridge razors.
A lot of shaving products can be a right racket, but some mugs do buy into it.

Personally the idea of a cleaning station is more of a marketing gimic, especially as I'd have to find somewhere to put it with a mains plug - so the bathroom is out of question. Washing the shaver head then applying some light oil (Wahl clipper oil for example) is sufficient I find.

Bought this on the last deal, it's the best electric shaver I've ever used. Tried Braun, Remington, Philips, Hitachi .... None as close and quick as this. Agree about the nuisance for travel with the cradle, and the battery life is not great - needs recharging weekly.

I've ended up buying both. Looking probably at keeping the Panasonic as can return the Braun locally. Also prefer that you can wash the Panasonic without need for cleaning station and need to purchase replacement cartridges. Reviews of both on Amazon put Panasonic ahead. However the plus on Braun was using in the shower, which think my son would prefer to do and 2 year warranty. Be good to know if you could open and still return.

If the general feeling from those that have had experience of the Panasonic ST-25 as well as the Braun 350cc is that the Panasonic is better, how can one explain the Panasonic getting to 143 degrees on HUKD in just over 2 days while the Braun got to 1,500+ over a similar period??

FYI chaps I bought this last year, good razor. For those concerned about razor burn I can say initially there was a little burn but worth noting that after a week or two when the blades dulled down just a bit the razor burn was no more. Thought this may be useful to know if you had any concerns on the matter.
Pleased with mine. Pull the trigger imo.

I have this shaver and a top of the range Pani. Both with Linear motors and now I'd never go back to Braun. They shave well and so far have proven more reliable than all the Brauns I've had (about 10 over the years).
The linear motor is worth having to avoid that slow down as the battery gets flatter. The only problem with the ST25 is the stupid charging stand, you can't just plug the charge cable into the shaver body, but at this price, its a bargain.

I would stick with the Braun deal..2 year warranty versus 1 here, better retailer for any issues. They are both good deals though.I had a pansonic a few years ago and was not impressed with build quality myself.Take your pick.

If that's the thicker handled version then this one will be somewhat different.
The motor on this seems to be slightly slower and the battery life is shorter as I'd guess the battery pack is smaller. That said this works just as effectively though not quite as quickly. Neat charging stand etc.

For those more inclined to wet shave using a double edged razor - I did look into it (at length, yes my obsessive nature again!) and ideally would have rather a cheaper shave via double edged blades *but* usually a morning shave is a chore rather than an experience which requires time/effort that a good wet shave done properly with the right kit demands (not to mention the risk of cuts!). Respect to those who wet shave using a cutthroat razor or double edged blades though!

Defo use that code as it worked for me, albeit when I ordered one before Christmas.
In terms of the quality of shave I found it to shave closer than a new foil on my old Braun Series 3 340s.
Battery seems to last a week (*just*) having an average shave of 7 minutes a day (yes I am that obsessive!).
The only downside, if I'm being really pickey, I is that it must be charged in the charging cradle as that has contact points for the charge as opposed to simply plugging in the charger cable into the shaver itself like the Braun - which was perfectly acceptable and didn't cause any sort of problems, meaning that the shaver and its cradle are required if you're travelling.

I agree, the price is ridiculous for a good disposable razor. Just purchased one of the £39 deal ones. Hopefully my hubby will convert. He may just use it between the Mach shaves. Either way can't go wrong at the price.
I have a Panasonic, without looking it up I forget the exact model, it was bought in a previous offer a few months back and like this one it is the 13,000rpm speed too and is definitely a good bit better than the 3 series Braun I still have.
I have a reasonably heavy beard. Mine cuts FAR better when used after about 2 to 3 days, which fortunately I am usually able to do. If left longer then it's best to trim off first to short stubble with a beard trimmer, and it then cuts as well as it ever does..
Have only ever used it once as a wet shaver, it works, maybe a fraction better than dry, just it isn't worth the bother of cleaning up, drying out and lubricating so haven't repeated. If I want all that bother, I will wet shave.
