Put your Mii centre stage in a world full of possibilities! In Tomodachi Life, populate your very own island with the Mii characters of family, friends or anyone else you can think of! All kinds of quirky, unexpected things will happen on your island, so check back every day to see what life throws at your residents.
The History of Tomodachi Life Tomodachi means friend in Japanese, and friends are at the heart of this game. The first game in the series was released for Nintendo DS only in Japan, taking the country by storm back in 2009. The series has gone on to sell over 5.5 million copies in Japan to date. Game creator Yoshio Sakamoto envisioned a game where players could experience Mii characters almost as pets - watching them interact and feeling empathy for what happens to them.
What can happen in your Tomodachi Life? You, your friends and your favourite celebrities can live together in a bustling apartment block, where you can drop by to check up on everyone and help solve their woes. Through helping and interacting with your Mii characters, you can raise their happiness levels (or sometimes disappoint them...!). As you do so, all sorts of wacky and wonderful things can happen to your island community.

It's quite a good game then? Teetering with deciding to buy it or not, kid has Wii U now and only uses 3DS for car trips and travel.
EDIT: Just skimmed a few reviews from usual places online and game is getting 7 to 8.5 / 10 from everywhere.

If I was smarter I could have logically worked that out. The £14.85 deal from the other day is currently a HUKD deal pick! Buzz might just switch it to this one.
My only dilemma now about buying the game is it looks one of those games that kids will get immersed in.... best played frequently, not ideal for a pick up then put down and pick up ages later perhaps.

Maybe but its good fun you can make the Mii characters whomever you want which the kids find hilarious!

Just noticed there is option for a download copy too. If anyone prefers the download version (I know some do) you can switch it from '3DS' to 'Download' in the drop down menu before purchase. I'm an old fashioned physical copy preferred person myself

Did you also notice the price of Download? £30.58? :smirk:

Also if you don't want the free download copy of the game (suggested for a 2nd player who has their own DS) you could always stick the download code on Ebay to reduce the price further. It probably comes on the usual nice scratchy paper form.

its a demo version though so wont be worth much??

How do you mean, if buying the download game on Nintendos ESHOP directly?

7 Jan 161#19
Yes I see now it has changed the price to £30.58 bizzarely to select the download option which is madness. It was £12.85 to download just a few moments ago.

No. If you click on the drop down and change it from 3DS to Download the price changes to £30.58 and it says on Back Order

They maybe only had so many to sell of the download codes @ £12.85 price one would assume, as it was that price not very long ago. To correct myself from earlier, having read over the text a few times I am now realising:
The two free download codes are:
1. A "welcome version" of the game for someone else to play with you on their DS via 2 player (this is possibly just the demo trial version?)
2. Panda Suit

Thanks ordered, so tempted for the daughter when it was about £15 but glad I held off. Heat.

Yes I mistook it for a full digital copy originally but later realised. Think its poor actually using a demo version thats is freely available download as a freebie and selling point. Also relabelling it as a "welcome version" is like it is discretely trying to obscure and hide what it is.

In the same boat here unfortunately. Put my order in less than 2 days ago! I've contacted them to see if they will provide a partial refund. I'll report back here if they do.
