I am so glad I read this about Nescafé tasting different from certain stores,I always purchase from morrisons and product is perfect, tasty, rich aroma, now and again my wife does a delivered shop from Iceland and their Nescafé original has no aroma when jar is opened, and tastes nothing like it should, this coffee is like a supermarkets own brand,I have mentioned this to her twice now ,thinking it is me going mad,the coffee is so bad that after one cup the whole jar went in the bin!,,.i think as already mentioned that this different taste Nescafé mustn't be for the uk market .
they only had 200g jars and no label for 300g jars so you get the 300g jar if the store has any stock of 200g + 50% free, which my local didn't.

The store I got mine in had 200g jars in a basket near the entrance with a £2.95 price tag. I found 300g (200g + 50%) jars stacked on top of a freezer - shelf edge label £4.98. I asked the guy on the till to scan/check price and it came up as £2.95, whereupon, I filled my wellies - I had a £10 Iceland voucher to get rid of - compensation for a bag of rancid peas!
So you may just be unlucky - either store didn't get stock, or it's all gone.

I tried again today and it checked the price and it went through the till at £2.95, the cashier could not believe it as it was marked £4.95 on shelf, she asked someone to take over the till, so she could go and buy a lot ;-)
Why do they not know, also the large tins of coffee mate has been priced down today to the £3 offer price, and nearly every one in the queue had a tin.

There are a few 'different' blends of Nescafe, usually the jars in the 'discount' stores are those produced for countries other than the UK. You'll find 'original' and 'classic', sometimes 'rich aroma' too, all are slightly different in taste. I personally have found Nescafe to be more 'harsh and bitter' in recent years so we've switched to ground filter and a cafetiere.

i definately wouldn't buy this from poundland as i bought a packet of lion bars from there and they tasted like they were years out of date even though the packet states they were in date.
they were really hard chocolate not soft and tasty like the bars you get from the supermarket.

I confirm spyro's comment, I brought 300g Original Nescaffe from B&M.. the coffee tasted well off - the use by date was checked to be well in , looks like a bad batch of Nescaffe on the market ? Now I only buy this coffee from Sainsbury / Waitrose and check the quality soon after purchase.

Be warned I bought some last month and it's not the same. It says Nescafé original but it isn't! It's taste like something that's been swept up of the floor.
