As before: great price, but the phone is hampered by the small 1GB of RAM and 8GB of eMMC. The larger version with 2GB and 16GB is much better, but unfortunately also significantly more expensive. So don't be fooled, this is no the great phone the original Moto G used to be 2 years ago - apps have gotten bigger, but the memory hasn't.

Bought in-store and was not asked to buy a £10 top up - I said it was for a contract sim and the assistant said that was fine.
The 1gb RAM doesn't seem to be showing it down in everyday use, with an antivirus app plus Adguard running. App switching is fine, no noticeable lag, it's nippier than my OPO. As mentioned above, the Marshmallow update will fix the 8gb storage issue if you add a fast 32gb SD card.
Overall a great phone and a great price.

Got one of these for the Wife last week very impressive bit of kit for £89, more impressive when we ditch Vodafone and go onto an MVNO for even cheaper mobiling :sunglasses:

Ive been researching a few phones for my daughter who will be turning a teenager soon. Cant afford the 'coolest' phones unfortunately but still wanted something reasonable. Did you decide on which one to get? Im looking for min 2gb ram, 16gb internal storage, 2400mAh battery, good back and front camera, and to be a bit fussy, preferably white

I gather that the battery included with this model is non-removable and non-replaceable. This being the case, should I be concerned as a user who intends to keep the phone for a period well in excess of two years!

Hmmmmm..... Just seen this on the Motorola UK website so it could be a "throw away" jobbie once the battery becomes unusable-
Can I replace the battery in my device?
This product uses a non-removable battery.
The battery should only be replaced by a Motorola-approved service facility.
Any attempt to remove or replace your battery may damage the product and will void your warranty.

Can only speak from experience: had 1st and 2nd gen Moto G's. Battery issues with both handsets. on saying that, handed both down to cousins, etc, who are still happy with them today after 1/2 years. If poss, have a look at some of the postings for the not-so-famous Chinese handsets. You will get a lot of stick from the purists, but, on balance, you'll get a lot more for your money. Yes, always worth checking them out with users here first. all the best.

Thanks! Got one for my dad. He is older so this is a gentle introduction to smart phones for him.
I have a question: Did anyone get a charger with their phone? The phone I got in Brent Cross London Vodafone store did not come with the plug in the wall part of the charger, just the usb cable that plugs into the wall charger....

superhot price.
Pros;
Great 13mp camera
Weather sealed
Quad core
Vanilla Android
Under 90quid!!
Cons...
none at this price. When it was £140 small storage and 1gb ram could be a complaint.

Had a 1st Gen Moto G , then changed to iPhone 5. Looking to get this phone but wondered is it really worth paying the extra for the 2gb version? I don't play games etc on it just calls Internet use. Approx £50 more so wondered if anyone could comment? Cheers.

After trying for days to purchase this, due to an error on the Vodafone website not allowing me to complete an order. Customer service were no help what so ever, managed to complete an order with customer service, to find out it hadn't gone through correctly! there is now NO STOCK.
Anyone know where else stocks this for a similar price? Amazon want close to £130...

I have had the same thing with the their website and customer service. I thought the order went through (after two hours of trying to buy!) but after 48 hours realised it had not (although I got a receipt and a confirmation reference number..... This was after I went to 6 different Vodafone shops in London trying to get it for my dad. Finally after I thought I won't get it, I accidentally found one in Brent Cross store. My dad is so happy with it. So my suggestion is to try a local store and see if you get lucky. I have a feeling there are still some in random stores. Good luck!

Voda Smart Ultra 6. £3 unlock code from eBay. probably the best phone for the moolah. But not white. Have used for several months. Excellent everything. 5.5" screen however, maybe a tad big for your daughter? can pick this phone up for around £110-£115
Well recommended.

If you keep checking stock in your local store, it does seem to come up again after running out (or at least it happened to me, although not received confirmation that it has been delivered..)

guys,
what is the battery life with light usage?

27 Jan 16#35
The light always uses the battery up quicker than anything else....
Sorry.
It seems to get by with a charge every three days or so.
