One for watch fans/collectors only - Montblanc Timewalker Chrono, rrp £3730, now £1865 on Ernest Jones plus interest free credit up to 4 years; works out at £186.50 down and then £34.97 per month for 48 months (variations possible); plus a potential 7% Quidco.
There is a code for 10% off sale items, but that removes the interest free credit option (well it did for me) making it a straight £1678.50, possibly less with Quidco.
Code is EJGSXC10, 10% off sale items.
Please don't vote cold because your £5 Casio from the petrol station tells the time no different to this; we know that and if that's the way we all felt we'd wear/drive/eat ........ etc the same of everything. It's a beautiful watch, but I fully accept only if you're into watches - if you're not move along nothing to see here.

If you need to take 4 year finance for a watch, you should probably rethink your life.

At least you can stare glumly at the watch to countdown the time to the next repayment.

Even if you have the cash in the bank, it's better to take the finance at 0%. You can still earn interest on your savings whilst it's sat with you. Also, if you consider inflation, in real terms you end up paying less back over 4 years.

Montblanc watches seem to be quite underrated. Yes the mechanisms are not made in-house but very stylish elegant time-pieces.
Great reduction although watch is not to my taste.

Don't really buy into fashion at all myself, but if it's half the price it normally is, then it looks like a hot deal

It's only 35 pounds a month so why not? There's people that can't afford to pay for it upfront but may want a nice watch. Some people would rather spend more money a week on cigarettes!

Good looking timepiece, but never really considered MontBlanc as a watchmaker.
We have 3 RADO watches from there - 1 x ladies and 2 x mens. Really like the materials, style and craftsmanship. Obviously you can get a decent discount instore, plus the service has been great (strap adjustments, replacement batteries, manuals, etc.).
Certainly looks a genuinely good sale though. Thanks for the heads-up.

At the rrp I'd rather have a speedmaster or something with similarly impressive heritage.
But I'm poor so my £240 Japanese import Seiko is certainly better than 48 repayments. :-)

You cant use the clubcard points on sales items from Goldsmiths cause this is what i am doing saving up my points for a watch, complete rubbish cant use on sale items though

Exactly. Even if I had the money laying around I would still go for the 0% finance tbh

I agree - though my Speedmaster (only 'expensive' watch I've ever owned - 50th b'day present) loses about 3min/day and Omega want £450 to service it!!!!

They go UP in value. Mine was £1200 in 2002, latest equivalent £3k plus and mine would probably fetch close to that.
Cthomas957
5 Jan 16#44
Well you'd earn aprox £112 in interest over the 4 years on the money towards the payments in the bank, vs a saving a of aprox £186 using the discount code. Who needs to go back to school?
Besford
5 Jan 16#46
Well, it's not new (2002 in fact) but started off at about 30secs/day and has gradually got worse. They have you over a barrel on the servicing as all official agents will quote about the same (and you lose the watch for about 6 weeks). They actually recommend servicing every 2 years too! It's special to me but it's a mugs game really and people who collect these watches need certifying .
