Good price,only problem it's currys.An absolute mess of a company !
Ring customer services, ask for the stores with stock and get them to do a price match. Tell them it's also an Instore offer too (they will check anyway). Don't forget to reserve one whilst they do the match otherwise someone will buy it. Can also post it out to you with over the phone payment.
Hope that helps

This or wait for a deal on c3 cat and dog???? Can't decide!!!

I have the normal c3 and it is the worst vacuum cleaner I have ever used. You literally have to go over cat hairs on carpet loads of times before eventually picking them up by hand. Hopefully the cat andand dog one is more effective.
Basically, the cleaner head sticks to the carpet if you put the power setting up so you reduce it and then it barely picks anything up. No idea why these are rated highly.

miele are the best!!! went through dysons, but they all eventually lose suction etc. was looking for another vacuum cleaner and HUKD folk were going on about miele...... bought it and wow! suction is amazing and last. bagged cleaners are always gonna be better for suction .... plus a lot lot less messier than non bags to clean out.

Because the bags work out about £3 per year and you don't have to clean it like you have to with Dyson ones
Bagless release loads of particles too
Needs emptying far less too and they are much quieter
the average review is higher, does anyone have an opinion on which would suit a medium 3 bed terrace with mixture of hard floor and carpet?

The one at John Lewis is not the same model as the one in this deal. The Currys one is 1600W hence the word Extreme in the model name.

I explained this to the JL representive but he said it's the same model.

I bought this from Curry's before Christmas. It is much better than my last machine (Henry). The suction is so strong that I only need to have it half way. It is light weight, follows you around nicely (unlike Henry) and has a great selection of stored tools. It's a considered purchase but, so far, it is worth it.

I don't see the extreme version on the Miele website so I have reason to believe the extreme is an older model

This is the older 1600w model which replaced by the 1200w model sold by JL. Apparently the newer 1200w model provides better suction for less power.
We bought this for our new home so not yet used it extensively, but tried it briefly on deep pile carpet at our current home and the suction is so powerful you have to reduce the power. does make me wonder whether the 1200w is a bit over the top and potentially the 800w eco version is good enough.
On a separate note, I suspect we will be better off with the turbo brush for better cleaning of deep pile carpet. If you're in the same boat you can buy the red cat and dog version which comes with the turbo attachment in the box... basically a head which contains a rotating roller brush like an upright cleaner, for about £200, or buy the attachment for £50 at a later point.

Outstanding vacuum cleaner, the 1200w is quite powerful and is more than enough.

Amazing how this vacuum cleaner was posted last year in October and it only reached 27 degrees...
I bought it at £149 and I highly recommend it. It's a solid product to use. The variable suction, neat storage of accessories and stability while doing the stairs is impressive. The suction on this is powerful too, I have it just above half way.
Also, don't quote me on this but I think you can buy the turbo brush and better filters for this. Keen prices on Amazon, ebay etc for the bags, exhaust filters and accessories.

I bet if you purchase the turbo brush that comes with the cat & dog one your vacuum will be able to pull up the cat hairs. Which C3 model do you have?

Just checked and I have the c2 compact
It struggles to pick anything up on short pile carpets. I just use it now on hard floors and had to buy a cheap £40 vax for carpets
Love this vacuum. Bought this from Curry's 6 months ago for £149. Replaced my bagless one and is definitely more powerful. Have to have it on the lowest setting other wise it is too strong. Would recommend this totally. Hated the bagless one as emptying it was so dusty.

Not forgetting the fact that bags themselves are not cost-free (when emptying bagless vacuums).
That video test is biased towards Miele though. Comparing an old Dyson model with a new one.

The same applies to the C2 range. If you buy the turbobrush your C2 compact should be just as good as the cat and dog version at picking up cat hair. Hope this helps if ever your Vax packs in.

I winced at paying £140 or so for the cat and dog version. BUT the build quality is excellent and suction very good. The turbo brush clogs up with hair and has to be cleaned out with a pair of scissors, this is a good thing , it catches so much hair from the carpets.
A tip, don't suck up fine plaster dust.....the smoke coming out the motor indicates a fault......

How are the mieles on carpet? They say carpet performance rating C/D also how long do the bags last for? We use vacuum at least twice daily. Thank you

I think if you have a lot of hairs to pick up you will need the turbo brush so a different model! You need the rotating brush to pick the hairs up! But for non pet owners I think the normal model does just fine. Hairs are always difficult to pick up with just suction alone.

we have a cat and dog one and its still going strong after several year, if you want a solid vacuum, this is brand, yes it has bags but you can buy after market ones which are a lot cheaper, just remember to change the filters and clean thr turbo head if you have it

Curry's sells both models in stores, e.g EXTREME POWERLINE at 1600W and POWERLINE at 1200W. I bought one today (1600W), easy to manoeuvre, great suction, sturdy. I was quoted £50 for a 8 year warranty extension. Hot.

Bought one of these last year from John Lewis. Returned it after 5 months through loss of suction. Got it back fixed. Should have bought another Dyson instead. I have a dog (Alaskan Malamute) and the bags fill up in no time. After you factor in what you pay for bags, you could probably buy 2-3 Dyson's. Wouldn't buy another one.

So even without a dog, they would be more than "£3 per year"?

Still available at this price - I just picked up one of these from Currys. Instore the label said £159 but scanned at the expected price. As others mentioned, Currys have stock of both the new 1200W version and this 1600W version but there's little to differentiate them in the shop as they are together on the shelf and have identical packaging (I think the product code is one letter different) - it looks like they are trying to sell them as the same product.

They retail this vacuum for £149 http://m.johnlewis.com/mt/www.johnlewis.com/miele-complete-c3-powerline-cylinder-vacuum-cleaner-black/p2123736#page_loaded. Therefore, I think curry's Rrp price is misleading. For an extra few quid;you will receive a lot better after service.
