Fact is, it's over half the price of everywhere else.

I got mine from Pc World, Kingston Park but I am sure I saw them in Newcastle store on Northumberland street yesterday and sure stock is a little more plentiful so you could try Silverlink as I know its near you.

I would argue this is better than the new Surface Pro dock which has serious Displayport compatibility issues.

I have one of these and they are great, but please be aware they are specific to the Surface 3 and are now eol.

There is a new model but that's not a proper docking station - more like a port replicator.

The Surface 3 one is different and about £90 at the moment in PC world/Currys

Will I use the dock a lot? no but for £50 it is worth having for when I do need it as I am never going to get it cheaper.

So what cable what you need to connect to monitor display port ? And again a wireless or wired keyboard too . How easy is it too undock . I have a surface pro 4

I'd be tempted by the dock if I didn't already have a 5 year old main computer haha. The surface pro 3 was just an upgrade for me for the tab s 10.5 I had (returned to amazon for price I paid). Probably work out around £200 more for the SP3.

You need a free adapter for use with Surface Pro 4 - Contact Microsoft for that as the Pro 4 is slimmer.
Super easy to undock - just slide sides of dock off the Surface.
Ports included -
Security lock
Power
Mini Display Port - a cable to covert to HDMI costs about a fiver on ebay.
2 x USB 2.0
2 x USB 3.0 on rear 1x USB 3.0 on side
Gigabit Ethernet
Audio headphone jack

So add a USB mouse/keyboard combo and a Tv (display port adapter) and you are good to go.
Could come in useful to have near TV in living room or a Tv in a spare room to utilise as a desktop.

If you consider it comes with an additional charger it's a decent deal.

Just bagged last one in Portsmouth Currys. Assistant said he'd looked the other week and had none. It said there was 1 on the system. He went off and found it !!!!!! Went through till at £39.97 as well.

The £90 ones are the Surface 3 docks not the Pro ones.
You asked a staff member without the sku and they searched for surface dock.
I am sure some stock in North East on the right sku, but I could be wrong.

Managed to get one but they tried to make a thing that the power adapter was missing and they couldn't find it . But with persistence and me hovering around the found the power supply . Cost me 40£. Apparnrtly beckton is showing 1 and Shrewsbury also showing 1 working ringing custmertservice rather then driving around . Now can anyone advise how I can get the surface 4 piece

Just contact Microsoft, they will send an adapter free i believe.

Managed to find one at Macclesfield. They had two but one was scanning at £165 and the one I reserved in another shop at £39.

Got the last display unit in Canterbury. £39.97, been thinking about getting the new one for ages but for that price, absolute bargain!

Tested mine and it works a treat, the gigabit network was the main reason I wanted one. Tested copying a 12gb mkv and it averaged 112mb/s compared to 25mb/s wirelessly.

Seems if you find a helpful member of staff who will check the local stores for the right sku then you struck lucky.

Just had the last one from Leyton, new sealed. Stratford Westfield has an ex display one with no charger in the box.

Stonking deal but have failed to get one - tried PCW in Coventry and Nottingham and Curry's PCW in Notts. Curry's PCW Notts had a Surface Pro 3 Dock but when the guy scanned it - it came up at £169. He believes the discounted one is an end of line older model - I didn't think they have released two versions of the Pro 3 dock?!

Anyway to help you lot out - the screen he showed me said a stock level of 1 at Stamford, Northampton and Kettering.

Derby also have 1 apparently but customer service struggled to get hold of the store for me to reserve it and I'm not driving from Nottingham if they've sold out.

If anyone has bought or can buy two I will happily buy one off you - will cover postage and travel costs etc too as I need one for my new Surface Pro 4 for work.

Update - went to Derby Wyvern store and despite the system showing 1 in stock they were not willing to help and just sent me packing with the line "All we have is on the shelf, it's probably missing mate..." they weren't willing to check out the back or help any further - crap customer service! Just walked into the local currys and picked up a sealed brand new dock for £40 - bloke seemed a bit suspect as its not ok website but was happy to sell.

Thanks. At first I went to Aintree and they checked local stock. The nearest was Warrington. When I got there I explained I had travelled and that Aintree advised there was one dock left in Warrington. After a long wait, the assistant made a few calls and found the dock somewhere in the back stock room. No idea why they were hiding clearance stock. It goes to show it's well worth asking and insisting they check stock rooms. Thanks
