Great if you like Stollen and sell by date at end of March. Warning, will not help with New yeard diet!

So, a completely unrelated incident, isolated at your local Lidl, on a completely different item, factors into voting cold on this deal?
Solid logic.

I picked some of this up before Christmas, but it was so solid that I put it back on the shelf. It just felt soooo stale!

Its supposed to be solid. Its Stollen, and heavy with fruit, just as proper Christmas cake is, and it keeps for weeks! It doesn't go 'bad' either. Our local Lidl sold out of Stollen at the normal price but Aldi were selling off their 750g Stollen for 75p each and I bought 8, just as I did last year. Heat to the OP.Good stuff.

Morrisons own Stollen usually £1.70 was reduced today to 9p (9p!!!!). All gone in no time. Had a couple, and just tried some (not usually a lover of stollen), wow it was lovely! So will be keeping a look out again at Morri's.

Not surprised they have loads left. There is much nicer stollen available. At that price though, worth getting if you like it or not too fussy.

coold!
first of all, it was for 1.29 or 1.19 for the last couple of weeks.
and it's way too late to reduce Christmasy stuff.
On 5th found plenty of extra thick brandy cream dated 4th - scanned 1.25 (full price) at the till, suggested them to clear up the shelf.

This stuff keeps. My mum used to keep them for up to a couple of years a bit like Christmas puddings they mature nicely over time.

39p in my local Lidl and about 8 cases of them stacked up - I don't normally like Marzipan but have acquired a taste for this (especially with a bit of Gluwein)

I saw some of this that someone had put out at work the other day and I ran away from it at rapid speed - marzipan is an acquired taste (i.e. bleeding awful and a Christmas cake wrecker). It's the reason I also hate Cherry Coke - it's liquid marzipan in a can and may be one of the most foul-tasting beverages in existence.
