Meh the exercise bike had much more coat hanger space than this. you had the handle bars and folded clothes could be put on the seat.
These are cheap although might serve a purpose in stopping you paying a fortune for one that in the end never gets used. I have a York Platinum cross trainer that I do use, 5 nights a week which was only £50 from Gumtree, The chap who bought it spent hundreds on it from Argos and it still had the plastic wrappers on as he never used it.
Check Gumtree or eBay local sellers for something more substantial, branded and a quarter of what the seller paid for it 6 months ago.

That's what I did  I wouldn't have known about this but someone mentioned it on another post so I am grateful that people do provide this kind of useful info on some posts like you have done on this one x

Looks good for 30 quid, the review saying it's designed for women or short legged men put me off as I'm neither!

I ordered this a couple of days ago but found the £65 one back in stock so decided to cancel this one..but iv got to be honest except that it has a bigger user weight and I assume better build I don't know the difference?..maybe I should just stick with this

I was thinking of buying the £65 one as well but decided against it, only because this may just end up becoming a clothes horse sooner than later if my "get fit mood" dies down quickly lol
So with this, also having read good reviews and much cheaper; i wouldn't feel so bad, if it just gathers dust lol

How do you sign for free delivery, it's asking me for card details.
u20pia to maj2509
12 Jan 161#15
You do have to put your card details in and pick a delivery plan you like (weekdays delivery or including weekends) but you won't get charged. I think they want your card details for when your trial period is up and you're a regular delivery saver customer Just cancel before trial period ends and you won't get charged at all. Unless, of course you'd like to carry on with their delivery plan.

Agreed, buying cheap equipment like this will only annoy and frustrate you when it doesn't work properly, which is going to make it so much harder to stay motivated.

That's good, get it delivered to the old address then get a good workout carrying to your new house. Put your back out in the process.

Best of luck if you're going to use it for more than a coathanger.
I've been through 4 or 5 crosstrainers over the past 12 years. The cheaper ones always break down after a few months daily use (I had umpteen repairs and spare parts for my previous one, a £300 Kettler, including 2 new machines as core components snapped or failed and were beyond repair. Great guarantee service from Kettler! The cheaper earlier ones I owned before the Kettler lasted 6 months max before failing).
Only when I got up to the £600 level has it been worth it - my current one (Spirit Fitness) is built like a tank and has been going strong for 3 years without a hitch, and has a lifetime parts warranty.
After all the faff in the past with cheaper models I've learned my "get what you pay for" lesson. I'm using these things for 30 mins every day.
Having said that, this is a fantastic price (my first one was an Orbitrek clone from Argos and was £80) and worth a punt if you think a crosstrainer is for you (to test the water)!

That is exactly why I want to get a cheapo to try out . If I like it and want something better will join gym at sports centre across the road . £30 no great loss if I find my knackered knee can't take it .

Well that's one solution . I'll pass thanks. If it still available will phone real people in the morning . My house does exist , even model found it eventually !

True, but one of the points of these trainers in less impact on the knees. Worth a punt at this price.

13 Jan 16#39
blimey you must have a very low height ceiling in your basement... typically the user would be above the height of the unit too ;-)
design, by the way, looks very similar to York's Argos models which are built to a price and I had the main axle snap while using it (and I'm not beyond the rated weight or a crazy peddler)

Ordered mine the other day, been looking for a cheap one for a while and missed out last week...........
But bought for a specific purpose , I always use one of these to warm up/down before and after lifting when I use the gym but now work out at home more and miss getting the joints warm before I lift............
Should do the job (only 5/10 mins light use, before /after workout, 4/5 times a week) and if it breaks its under warrenty for a price that beats even secondhand stuff on ebay....

Thanks for highlighting the offer. I just purchase one using my club card points & it only cost me £15 + p&p

13 Jan 161#38
Lol. Ok point taken, but a large % of these will be bought, used for a short period then become redundant. A walk-run, or if troublesome joints, a swim-ride are either free or cheaper (presuming most people own a bike or trainers etc).
The problem with indoor trainers is that it gets boring quickly, and unlikely to stretch your fitness out.
Enjoy the great outdoors.

how do you connect the tension control cable?? having a nightmare!!!
u20pia to DealMeIn
23 Jan 16#44
You have to pull the cable from the bottom of the handle end. It helps if someone is holding the handle bar whilst you're pulling the cable to connect it to the bottom "hook". It does stretch enough to hook it on as shown on the diagram of the manual. That's the only bit I also had a little problem with but it can be done.
Good luck! It's a a great machine for the price! My whole family is making great use of it!
