Compares well to a Welsh cava I’ve been reliably informed.

No its not decent. It's cheap and low quality to boot.

This is a HOT deal, because my ASDA always sells the cheapo Andrew Pearce, or is it Pearson Champagne for £10.00 making out like it is better quality than it really is. RRP is apparently £24.99 but never seen it for sale for anything other than £10.00 myself.
Bottle in this deal is so much better and higher class, a proper bottle of Champers really.
This stuff is actually pretty decent. Not the best by any stretch, but then what do you expect for £10? 99% of the people on here wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a £10 bottle and a £100 bottle.

All you need to know about Jane MacQuitty - Not Joking
They don't seem to mind it in Devon and Cornwall either, Western Morning News saying......
"Louvel Fontaine Champagne Brut I very much liked this full-of-fruit crisp and lively champagne even at the full price, and include it here, now, because it is on promotion"
The Times is a joke, they just put in outrageous attention grabbing headlines to get you to subscribe to the full article online, Jane "who is she" McQuitty, never heard of her.

LOL at the snobs, according to Daily Mail
"Best for a party....
Louvel Fontain Brut, down from £24.50 to £10 for 75cl, Asda.
This award-winning fizz has vanilla notes and is a real crowd-pleaser. At the current offer price, it's worth buying in bulk if you're throwing a party."

Another imaginative bit of pricing to show a big 'saving'. I'm sure that Asda comply fully with the letter of regulations on price reductions. But I doubt that they sell much at £24.50 - would you buy it at that price?
Jane McQuitty, reviewing this in The Times a couple of years ago described it as 'foul'.
