Old spotlight has packed in and noticed this in lidl's for £11.99.May not be the brightest but will do me for lighting up the front door path leading to the bins.Has pir.760 lms.3 yr warranty.

Still have to connect mine as I bought as a backup and instruction are pretty sketchy but ive written it as it says.
'Open connection box after you have released the lid of the connection box with flathead screw driver.Run flexible supplyline through the cable gland and into connection box.Fix the connection cable by turning the nut of the cable gland.Connect it with the terminals in the connection box.Pay attention to marking on terminals L for live N for neutral.Close the connection box.' States to fit it to wall first before wiring.Not much but hopefully it will help.Obviously a compenent person with electrical knowledge will need to run the cable from fuse box in house.

I installed a non PIR lidl light last year to replace an ancient bulkhead fitting with a bayonet 60 watt bulb and I'm very impressed with the light output and coverage it provides. I'll get one of these to replace another non working light over the patio. Thanks for posting.

Some are as-good. You need warm-white "high colour rendition index (CRI)" ones. We have some quite expensive GU10s in our kitchen which are indistinguishable from halogens. It's extremely unlikely that this thing has a high-CRI LED in it, though.

It is quite small, the reflector is about 5" diagonal (being led there's not the heat to dissipate). What dimension is critical for your installation?
My (earlier) no-pir one works nicely mounted at first-floor window-cill height.

If you don't fancy the drive to Lidl (some people lives miles away from the nearest store) you can get a more pwerful 10W one from CPC for £15 delivered.
750 Lumen is about the same light output as a 60 watt traditional bulb, or a 40 watt halogen one, so it won't be dramatically bright, but who really needs a 500 watt floodlight to light the path for stray cats and hedgehogs passing the doorway.

No sign of a solar panel so I assume this uses alkalines? Or does it need mains wiring?

got one of these to light a side path up .crisp white light.about 7ft up.lights a workable ark of about 5 metres and a further 5 of dim light.hope that helps

grabbed one earlier , already got 10w one in garden and its exceptionally bright ,much better than the halogen ones

As much as I'd prefer LED for power consumption reasons, I've never found that they actually produce better quality of light than a halogen unit.
