Same price at Currys as well.
But only 2 HDMI's according to specs. If true that is poor.

Waiting for the vestel and TV 'experts' to chime in before I make a decision on whether or not to buy this.

Which? magazine list these LG
Me too. A few reviews for the LG 49UF680V complain about the 'dreary' picture quality. Other LG models have the problem of a sluggish WebOS interface. I'm really keen on getting an LG but it seems Samsung is top dog at the moment.

What's the difference between webos and "lite"?

I'd struggle to believe you even use anything via SCART. If true that's poor :stuck_out_tongue:

Hi Pandy.
are you absolutely sure its this model as it lists 2 hdmi on argos?
Do you watch football on it? Have you had issues with clouding on the pitch/ dirty screen effect?

I have no issues with a "dreary" pitcure and the WebOS is far from Sluggish. I keep commenting on how fast it is to my wife. We cannot believe how fast the WebOS is compares to our Samsung Smart TV.
Fantastic TV. Glad I made the jump from Samsung to LG!
The magic remote is also a fantastic addon

This is the right TV for me but hanging off for a 5 year guarantee, free delivery, Magic Mouse and more content — for sub £500. Time's on my side.

Indeed, rather wait a bit for 'OLED' to drop in price
Sony KDL-50W805C, 807C or 809C is a better buy in my opinion. A little more money but hng on for a few weeks and the price may start to fall. I have last years LG50LB650V,just a year old now, paid £499.00 for it and its not very good and the tv had been previously £799.00. On a recent comparison in Currys the Sony 809C was easily the best picture quality at this size up to £650.00. At that time the Sony was £549.00.
I don't like WEBOS but LG have changed the user interface on how most TV's work using the toggle part of the remote. I suggest you try one fully first if you are thinking of buying. Try it on freeview and freeview HD. They have feeds for this in Currys. Compare it to the Sony. As for 4k at this size. Great if you can get 4k and sit 5 feet or closer to the screen then you may see a difference over 1080. No evidence of this for me when I did my last test in Currys from 6 to 8 feet away.

My old sky+ box still needs a scart. I never ever did upgrade it before I ditched those money grabbing greedy football player pocket liner so and so's !!!!
I still got a vhs video recorder in the loft along with a Sega Megadrive and can't quite remember how the wii connects. If I got retro one day what am I going to do with only one scart on the tv lol

How else am I going to connect up my SVHS and Super Nintendo at the same time? I'm going to have to use SCART splitters just like my coax splitter I use to connect my C64.
Smartguy1
16 Jan 16#25
You can still buy a scart splitter !! They have them in the bargain shops. Or you can buy an expensive bush product from argos. £14.99 for a Bush splitter. You can nearly buy a bush tv for that lol.
Don't forget your vhs recorder will have two scart sockets so you can play your SNES through the video. Problem solved. There is also the scart to component adapter. Or you could just do what most of us do who only buy tv's with 2 or 3 hdmi slots when we have too many accessories and don't want to use a splitter. Just swap the leads over.

Many report it being nearly impossible to find.
I actually use scart. We have a Sony RDR-HXD970 DVD recorder going into a Sony Bravia KDL-32p3020u television. The telly has two hdmi inputs, both used up, so I connect the DVD using scart. There’s nothing that the DVD recorder can navitely generate that scart can’t handle, so I may as well use the telly’s scart connection for what can never be better than a 625 (576i50) signal.

Check down the cushions, that's where the tubes in my house leave them, even though I always leave them in a row under the TV for everyone else.
