Yes even after factory reset it's terribly slow. I checked out custom roms when I got it and couldn't find any, or I'd have flashed it. Just assumed it wasn't a popular enough tablet for ppl to bother developing them.

You could, but install apps in memory card is not ideal...

Or you can insert a memory card into it? (I think!!)
I'm not sure whether to buy this for my mum. She just browses the internet and would use it to watch movies (and maybe play some temple run! !).

Got an earlier Lenovo tablet, they issued an upgrade to android that made it run slow, then left it there and refused to answer and questions or complaints. Still running slow 18 months later.
Not just me, quite a few complained on Amazon, Lenovo forums, made no difference.
Wouldn't get another one for this reason.

The earlier tablet problems I saw seemed to be because people were not factory reseting them. The people who didn't have problems did a factory reset and cache wipe. I did notice issues initially with this one being silly with wifi connections after the 5.0.1 update but after a reset and cache wipe I didn't encounter a single problem.
Did you try a full clear down etc? I think it's sometimes a bit of a common theme when older devices get updated and perhaps shouldn't have been or it gets rushed out without being properly tested or again people just slap a major version update on and expect to just carry on as normal when although its a pain its often worth at the very least clearing the cache partition after an update and if still dodgy then a reset if that doesn't fix it then a custom ROM is the way to go.

Never knew that, but I don't change the password often so not come across it, also that's why I said do it BEFORE you set it up there's no Google account associated with the device at that point so you won't have a problem.
As for people bitching about resolution etc there's far more to life that resolution outside of willy waving contests what about viewing angle, colour and many other factors. I have the device in front of me and for a good tablet running Lollipop it's really good much better than a lot of the other stuff i've bought in the past like HP.
Why oh why do people expect HD+ resolutions on a tablet well under £100???? IF you want a machine like that go buy one and pay for it. I really don't understand why people seem to expect the moon on a stick for under £100, just seems every deal for tablets has gone from being trolled by Apple fanboys to Resolution warriors.
No it isn't an HD display but having just gone from another branded tablet that DID have an HD display to this IMHO this looks much much better, it is an IPS panel too don't forget.
Admitedly I don't think i'd go any lower resolution wise but 1024*600 is perfectly acceptable, it's not like you're going to be doing intense Photoshop work on this. My kids certainly don't complain about going from a Nook HD to this and back on a regular basis. I will say this has a much smoother experience than the Nook HD (even after running CM11 on it instead of Nookware).
If you are after a cheap 7" very usable tablet for say an elderly relative or the kids to watch movies, read comics, play games etc then it's really nice. OTOH if you go thru the specs religiously before guffawing at it without realising not everyone else cares that much then go buy an ipad pro.
If a sub £100 tablet is such a bad deal because of the resolution then POST A BETTER DEAL i'm yet to see anyone who does post moaning about cheap tablets being relatively low res post better hardware at the same or similar price!!!

Wow indeed!
600x1024 is a joke!
The A7-50 (linked in the comparison above) has a 800x1280 screen, and that's 8 months older than this tablet!
I had one of the first Lenovo Tablets (IdeaPad A1) and it was a horrible experience, and Lenovo provided awful customer support!
I personally wouldn't touch this with a barge pole, but for a kid watching videos on a car journey, there are worse options.

This is excellent got one before Xmas. I updated to 5.0.1 straight away. Tip upgrade it IMMEDIATELY then factory reset it, clear cache etc then start using it.
If you don't the upgrade can make the tablet run horribly, I did it like that and not had a single problem with it, really nice design and spec

be careful factory resetting in lollipop, my mate just found out the hard way, if you change your google password on the device and then do a factory reset, you're device Will be locked for 72 hours.

Don't think hard drive is the right name for tablet storage, but this is what stated in JL' site. The correct one should be eMMC...
