This is in John Lewis Oxford Street only. There were 5 of these Lego Tower Bridge reduced to £150 because of damaged box. Great news for Lego fans. Not so great for "investors". They are situated away from the main Lego section of the store, but easy to find.
Happy building!

How about people who actually want to use the item for its desginated purpose?
Shocking idea, I know.

Many many thanks, op! Just picked one up for £110. Very lucky.
Was told that because of the state of the box it would be that price, although it was marked at £150. Box is damaged badly (seal broken), but I'm not scalping (or complaining!). Happy days

You'd have to vote hot deal if passing Oxford Street, but probably not if you live outside London, say Aberdeen for example. Still cheaper than a £274 fire station. I know Lego collector pieces go up in price but do these items ever actually sell at their exorbitant auction prices? You could just end up with lots of expensive stock nobody wants to buy. Just asking.

Apologies if I've got the wrong end of the stick here (tone is hard to detect online!), but you seemed to be having a quip at Lego investors for taking away from people who just want to enjoy Lego.

I also saw this set reduced to £120 in John Lewis Welwyn Garden City last weekend with a damaged box, so seems like there's a few of them floating about, looks like prices are store specific though or dependent on the amount of damage? I also picked up the Lego City police lorry for £15 (half price) with a damaged box

?
The logic is that it's a £60 discount on a popular toy. That's certain here.
As an investment, nobody has any idea.

Not sure I follow this logic. Do you go and tell off supermarkets as well?

I see this set fully built and was put off buying it. It's not as big as you think. I also thought the vehicles looked pants. That said I do want one but the box must be mint do I'm out
Heat added for casual builders it's a steal

It's not the most interesting build, I must admit. The two towers were identical for obvious reasons. But it's one of the older ones where the bags weren't numbered... and most pieces are in beige colour. Took me about 4 hours total about 18 months ago. Looks amazing though. Make sure you have room for it because it's BIG.
I think I paid about £140 for a similarly tatty box version on Amazon back then. Would have bought one myself if I didn't back then. It is a local deal, and only 5 left when I was there this afternoon. Good luck if you live in London and in the area!
I guess I should have added 5p for the carrier bag charge, as it's a big box! :-D

I've some pre 2016 jelly to invest in if anybody is interested. Honestly investing in Lego. It's £150 for a toy.

You wouldn't say that if you had bought a millennium falcon back in 2007 for £200 which is now worth £2,000 in mint boxes condition.

Not a good investment this one - been available for about 6 years already so everyone who wants one has one and it has sold millions of units! The ones to go for are those that are discontinued after 1-2 years (but obviously you don't know which ones they will be until they are discontinued)...

If you enjoy building, why would you buy a kit? Use your imagination and make a bridge out of your box of random bits.

And even for £150 it is still just bits of plastic in a TATTY CHEAP cardboard box.

Try actually making it instead of thinking of it as an investment, that is what it is for after all.
It looks amazing when made up.

Have some heat - I got 50% off the Wookie Gunship only to discover my son had decided to build it - could have made a few quid on it, but he enjoyed building it, ah well... (It was from my local Smyths closing down sale)
