The Kitvision Splash action camera is on ebay's daily deal page for an amazing price of £29.99! The camera can record video in full HD 1080p, take photographs in 8 megapixels and has a built in LCD for previewing videos and playback, not only this but the camera comes with a 15m waterproof case and a tonne of accessories already in the box making it perfect for any activity and means you don;t have to worry about paying an arm and a leg for them separately!
I bought one of these for full price at £69.99 and I think it's a great little camera, perfect for anyone looking at buying one or looking at GoPro's!

Remember to put the product into context with the price, this isn't a £400 GoPro - it's a £30 action camera that uses different video components to make it affordable to the majority of us who can't buy GoPro, yes you sacrifice 5 frames per second on the video but that isn't a biggie to me or the rest of the audience who will be buying this.
Mounts: the accessories provided are a lot better quality than those found with dodgy cameras on Amazon, if anything breaks in the first year then send it back under warranty - i contacted their support department for a spare part and they sent one for free, once again not a £400 camera so i'm grateful i received anything more than a camera when i bought it.
Helmet mounted - depends on your bike trail and how rough the ground was, also the stability of said persons head. Action cameras are much better mounted from the chest when riding. I noticed the camera performs alot better using 60hz instead of 50hz which i think you need to change yourself in settings.
Leaky case: this is obviously a faulty case, if under 1 year warranty you should definitely request a replacement which they should send you for free.

"Fake" or not doesn't really matter when you're comparing equals, it's not like you're getting warranty and support in either case, it breaks? Buy a new one.
Output is king and the quality in either case is almost identical (white balance cool/warm can be adjusted).
Nobody buying either the Kitvision or SJ4000 is going Pro Heliskiing or donning a wingsuit. And if you're larking around on holiday or wearing it on your commute, it's pefectly suited.
I use an AS30V Sony (IS) on my helmet, and I have a £15 SJ4000 rearward facing in my seat post.
I'll go more in depth.
The mounts are of poor quality.
The video is not that great, especially when helmet mounted as it's too jerky
Oh and the case leaked when it rained.
Better?

These cameras are great, I already have one from last year but I'm going to get another for my daughter for the summer holiday! We took one to the waterpark and had great fun.

Just get an SJ4000 off of eBay for £13-£20, it will be equal or better in quality and there's a decent community of users to ascertain perfect mounting solutions using GoPro mounts etc, although you will get plenty of mounts included.

This, or a xiaomi yi or mobius or something. Only thing to watch out for it to try and make sure you don't get a fake chinese version of the fake chinese version of a gopro...

Just my 2 penneth worth with the SJ4000 on eBay for £13-£20 these appear to be fake? I wonder about the battery life, you can get replacement batteries. But on one of the youtube reviews the batteries didn’t fit the fakes.
Still it’s very tempting @ £16. Buy-it-now

Don't be a pedant, if you can't understand my point I'm sure someone more objective can.
Watch the comparison, fake or not, the output is fine in the under £80 price range.

not being a pedant but a realist
you have no access to potential firmware/updates/etc with a fake
i have nothing against generic/unbranded items but when they are scummy and blatant fakes trading on the success of other brands, even naming them to sell them i dont agree with it
you have a fake sj4000 or a sj4000 clone NOT a sj4000

You can learn way more than you would ever really need to about budget cams over on Techmoan's channel on Youtube. As Tech spods go he is quite entertaining and the quality of his reviews for cams is probably the best on Youtube.
Very good little camera this. Takes 1080p, which is actually better than some of the more expensive kitvision models (such as the Escape, which only shoots 720p). My only gripe when using underwater is that there is only button on the underwater case. Which means you can only shoot videos OR photos, but not both. You'd have to get out of the water, open the case and use the side button to swop to video/photo mode. So that is a bit annoying. But great underwater videos, hard to do better for the price.
I never used it on my bike, but I reckon by the model name "Splash" this particular model is designed for watersports.

Ordered one after looking at some sample videos on youtube. Seem to do a decent enough job and for £30, I'd love to have myself a camera that is waterproof.
