cheaper, healthy (maybe), and can watch tv or whatever (clean maybe, so that your floors look better than KFCs?) while you oven cooks it for you, and for most people having the very tiny bit of meat you get after having been about to get it all off the bone is hardly a treat its just annoying and pointless, so only linking to boneless ones

So cute, its surely wrong to slaughter one of natures true givers!, they give you there eggs virtually their entire lives, a super food full of protien and yet for mankind (and KFC) its not enough!, you have to take more, you have to eat the flesh too!
Same goes for cows, they give you milk, which in turn makes a wealth of dairy products, why be so greedy and also slaughter and eat them, why not wait until they die naturally then that would at least not be murder and would be OK.
What the human race does and has become is immoral and wrong, we'r a marauding cancer of the planet, that's what we all are, consuming all its resources and using its beautiful life forms like a 'product', I'm ashamed to be a human being the way most of us behave it sickens me!.

No? Just look around you. McLibels, BK, KFC, etc they all have queues outside. They think it's 'healthy eating', none of them can cook, and they 'think' they're getting a bargain 6 quid for 9 pieces of chicken. You can go into a butchers and buy a whole chicken for this - yeah, you gotta cook it (it's really difficult!). Ok, you might not have the time ...judging by the queues nobody has any time anymore. But they all seem to have the time to go to junk food outlets and then wash it all down with a litre (or is 2 litres the norm now?) of Coke. The end result? As I said just look around you. To get obese!
I haven't stepped inside a McLibels, KFC or any of them since 1990.
The brainwashed can keep going into them. What's worrying is the tempting gifts for kids in some of them. The one in question a neighbour goes to with their kids even has mounted computers for the kids to be kept amused - eating and pcs, oh dear. She was with her kids the other day and one had a Snoopy cup, I said that's cute, I remember the Charlie Brown cartoons. Yeah, she said, I got it with meal deal in (you know where) recently. And the other kid had some other Snoopy goodies she thinks were 'free' with their meals. They're not free. You have to buy a meal! I confess, one of the Snoopy toys was not the usual bit of junk, it was really brilliant, Snoopy under a tree with Woodstock and you blow Snoopy and he spins round as if by magic (it's a hidden magnet). Now that was a good so-called freebie! And I started to think, ah well, perhaps there is no harm. A bit of junk food for kids, what harm can it do? And get 'FREEBIES!' like that thrown in to keep them happy.
Nah, I've been wrong. There's no harm in it...
Then I looked at the size of her young kids and the size of her as she waddled off. The kids waived back at me.
Nah, no harm in 'healthy' junk food. Not much!

Ok, KFC is not for everyone - all of us have our favourite fast food. As for welfare standards, at least KFC insist on British chicken reared to the independant Red Tractor standards. The recent C4 programme "Tricks of the Restaurant Trade" showed how one of their suppliers, Moy Park, rear their chicken in what seemed to be fairly good conditions. The point was made that Moy Park also supplied Nandos.

To me, animals should be gassed (anesthetic) before slaughter.
Its the most humane way while still being quick, and the animal has very little chance of feeling pain.
Madchester
30 Jan 168#104
The problem with people in this country is that they are more concerned with things like how a chicken is slaughtered than the important stuff like is my beer cold enough. (Didn't our ancestors used to wring chickens necks? Just saying,)
If you eat meat an animal has to die so get over it or don't eat meat. If you don't agree with halal then give up you Friday night take away. If you only eat free range eggs then give up eating any shop bought product containing egg/egg derivatives.
Me?.......Im like Homer Simpson with his pet lobster "pinchy". Sure I will shed a tear when I bite into the meat...but it tastes so good!
By the way halal chicken tastes great. I got 4 kilo of very clean halal chicken Breast for just £12 (from Asda in a Bolton last week yes £3 per kilo!!!). The chicken was NOT treated with pig protein and injected with H2O to increase the weight like pre packed supermarket chicken that most people buy.
Anyway I will put my soap box away now LOL
yrreb88 to Madchester
30 Jan 16#108
The pig protein is a new one, what make you think that?

They are eating an animal which has spent most of it's life in **** conditions, male baby chicks being placed in a grinder just after hatching, having their beaks burned off to avoid them pecking each other to death, and growing so fast they struggle to walk. I honestly don't get why people care so much about the last 30 seconds of an animals life, when they didn't care about the couple of months they were alive. If you have a problem with the way an animal dies, don't eat an animal.

There is no way to kill an animal humanely. If you love meat, you don't love animals. You cannot ignore how an animal lives, and just focus on how it dies. If you hate halal, you must hate any way an animal dies. It's like saying "I don't mind if that guy gets shot in the head, but don't stab him in the head. That's cruel."

Most of the chicken shops in Ilford wipe the floor with KFC. The shop near the station in Seven Kings is the better than anything I had in America - and that was on a 'best chicken in the world' mission where I ate nothing but fried chicken for days on end, including all the varieties of wings they did in McDonalds. KFC tends to be overcooked and the hot wings are awful. The wings in Popeye's are the crumbly type, like KFC, which I don't like.

Yes that's true,i have eaten in KFC about 4 times in my entire life and frankly that was 3 times too many.I remember back in the 1980's when i was a boy when MacDonald's and KFC washed up on on sunny shores and remembering there food tasting ok at the time, but nowadays they have gone down hill by a long way.
And the last time i went to subway sandwiches while i was living in hong kong i ended up with food poisoning for the £4 privilege i paid.

does anyone know if the £5 off on colonels club app can be used with this offer?

You can (twice a month) use the 20% off and then after the order is processed, go on the colonels club (works best online compared to the app) and claim your stamp.

Unless you live in Small Heath. The "indies" are of far worse quality than the KFC outside the big Asda, filling their chicken with water and slamming a boatload of spices just to make it remotely "nice", and the chicken they serve mostly is left to sweat in those reheaters before being handed to unsuspecting customers. More at risk of food poisoning in these shops compared to KFC.

I guess it is store specific.
My local did not accept the 20% discount voucher when I tried last year.

yes i make most my meals from scratch but when it comes to having a treat or fast food then i just treat it as what it is and don't expect to be eating top quality , just exactly what it is and try not to think of where its come from etc, just eat, enjoy(most the time) and move on
This is the offer it was last time round, and it seemed to be the same the time before so I don't think it is boneless. Just the general chicken you'd get with the bargain bucket.

This year the tills have been adjusted to allow discounts to stack on top of this offer - including but not limited to:
It was the poo on the walls that done it for me! haha

This is true! But I also don't eat Nando's for the same reason. Admittedly I was more shocked seeing the conditions of Nando's sources as its not what I'd come to expect. When it comes to chicken I always find the independent places tend to be of better quality. Either that or make it yourself as you say, only then its not quite 'fast' food

fair enough but worth a try
someone said on the last promo it worked and they did it so maybe varies . Always worth a pop lol!

I asked during the last offer and they said no, couldn't use a promotion on top of another promotion. It's not an uncommon rule.

yeah me neither, tbf any eatery is the same unless your at home cooking from scratch i don't think its good to single out places. For instance my sister refuses kfc says chicken bad quality etc but saw a programme other day that showed how chicken for kfc and chicken for nando's is reared in same barn and same way, yet she worships nandos and pays higher prices!!! Everything in moderation.
Opening post
Don't forget 2 large side orders for £2
Took info off about added discounts as people are saying that it doesn't work!
Ends Tuesday 1st March

lol
Edit: unfortunately no sign of the offer
Very greasy, manky looking chicken in most cases and after watching the KFC behind the scenes program safe to say I'm steering clear!
I just got the student 15% off as well, in Bath
https://www.kfc.co.uk/
Anyway all this discussions keeping the interest up I bet instead of having a negative effect, their sales have actually increased as a result!
Everyone loves a good discussion. I see no harm in people expressing their opinions here, it would be pretty boring if no one did!
if you like KFC then this is a good deal
Anyone know if any in Glasgow are doing this or is there a way to check ?
Always had terrible experiences in kfc. Service is shocking.

cheaper, healthy (maybe), and can watch tv or whatever (clean maybe, so that your floors look better than KFCs?) while you oven cooks it for you, and for most people having the very tiny bit of meat you get after having been about to get it all off the bone is hardly a treat its just annoying and pointless, so only linking to boneless ones
i agree with those that say they ashamed of what the world is becoming (well has been for a long time now)
Yes
OK grab my wing
I'll see myself out
Same goes for cows, they give you milk, which in turn makes a wealth of dairy products, why be so greedy and also slaughter and eat them, why not wait until they die naturally then that would at least not be murder and would be OK.
What the human race does and has become is immoral and wrong, we'r a marauding cancer of the planet, that's what we all are, consuming all its resources and using its beautiful life forms like a 'product', I'm ashamed to be a human being the way most of us behave it sickens me!.
Don't think I can bare to eat it.
Loads of Indian food places in Chungking mansions, never got to try it tho.
Unfortunately I'm going to end up weighing 50 stones after this, but it is simply amazing.!!!
If you think I'm brainwashed just because I commented on what is a good deal that you're as bad as those who claim to be brainwashing us.
You also need to get off that ridiculously high horse.
I quite enjoy an angus steak burger from Burger King on occasion, do you put me in the can't cook and obese category?
I, and my family, get home cooked meals 9 out of 10 nights.
My kids are treated to one of these establishments probably once every 3 weeks or so, they are far from obese and have an active lifestyle, various kids clubs and sports clubs.
WHY do you need yoga sessions 4 times a week?
You must be healthy and slim then?
Another of the brain-washed! Don't eat junk food and you wouldn't need the above.
Another above said 'great food and value for money'
...Absolutely laughable statement. No wonder this country's health is f....d!.
Not much!
As someone who eats at KFC a couple of times a year, thanks OP.
I didn't know horses came as high as the one you're sitting on.
Couldn't possibly eat all 9 pieces on my daily rounds. Probably have to starve for a few days! Hot from me tho'.
I always find the food enjoyable, the restaurants are clean and I enjoy the whole experience... Enjoy McDonald's too, but not a fan of BK though.
Better food than some back street cafe's, or dodgy kebab and curry houses after a skinful of ale.
I only buy KFC if i'm really hungry and that's not often.
Much tastier and more value for money than Nandos in my opinion.

If so getting 18 pieces of s..t on Tuesday
too greasy...
Love trying out new things on holiday. I usually tend to find that Brit dishes can be quite bland at times with the same old, same old with nothing new or adventurous.
Sure, I'd love them to have a few acres of grass, but that's not sustainable or viable.
Its the most humane way while still being quick, and the animal has very little chance of feeling pain.
Just a thought, supermarkets with their vast buying power allegedly resort to pumping their chicken with water for profit yet the meat you bought, from a supermarket, is definitely without water for almost half the price... :stuck_out_tongue:
I forgot I took this picture last time round... ironically also in the Stafford KFC store.
1) Chicken
2) Salt
3) Grease
You heard it hear first!
You could buy a whole roast actual chicken for less than this knock off stuff.
I did have a doner kebab about half an hour ago though :sunglasses:
Halal is brutal, but if you want high-welfare meat you don't buy it from a fast food outlet!
Do you have to pay £5.99, get the receipt, then fill in the online survey to get a 20% refund?
I love meat
if i was like everyone else and understood how animals are killed and saw it with my own eyes id be the same as them and hate meat,
Good deal though.
Do you have the same problem with Kosher food?
but
people including me who is against halal, would also be sick to the stomach if we saw how any animal was killed
ignorance is bliss unfortunately, i love meat, i hate halal, if i saw how any meat was "prepared" id be sick
like most humans
As for the HALAL comments... 95% of other chicken outlets & so called ( INDIAN TAKEAWAYS / BALTI HOUSES ) are HALAL too, you don't see many Indians , of the likes of Mr Singhs

And the last time i went to subway sandwiches while i was living in hong kong i ended up with food poisoning for the £4 privilege i paid.
