what's the difference between the classic and the WV 2?
Kulaak to BlakeBeau
29 Dec 152#9
The main differences to the previous generation (WV 50 plus (Classic), WV 60 plus and WV 75 plus ):
25 % longer battery life
100 g lighter
10 % quieter
smaller dimensions
improved ergonomics by optimzed grips
Optimized operating elements (e.g. closing plug of the dirty water tank)
LED display always in sight
Classic is the slightly older model the wv2 is also now discontinued, the wv2 was slightly smaller and had about 10% extra battery

Is this thing actually any good? My wife and I are moving into a much bigger house and I know I will get tasked with cleaning the French doors.

Bought the wv60 from Tesco last week when it was £29. Did our French doors in and out today and took less than 5 minutes, it was that much fun I did all the internal windows. The water in the reservoir was filthy and I got brownie points from the wife!. Excellent bit of kit. Mistake people make is to not use the cleaning cloth attachment to clean it first, then vacuum off the water...

Bought the wv5 version from tesco, I use it almost daily now. Best piece of kit I've bought this year. Bought it mostly to clear condensation for our sash Windows. Water was black the first time we used it!

I was sceptical too, but its amazing, so easy, no rubbing or polishing - i did a 4 bed house in half an hour ish without it would take me 2 hours and i dreaded doing it - now i can't wait!!

I got the £29 tesco deal but still to un-box. The kids fingerprints are all over the windows from watching out for Santa. Thanks for posting, (also looking forward to comments about using a sponge instead).

Oh, no. I've finally succumbed to all the raving accolades given this piece of kit and made a purchase. Here's hoping the wife will be happy with the resultant cleaner windows. If not I'll blame you lot!

Yes. Compared to using windowlene and a dry cloth - it's faster, less effort and a better finish. Besides windows I use mine on mirrors and glass tables too. I know many people who live in hard water areas also use it in the bathroom on tiles and shower doors etc to cut down on how often they need to clean scale.

Little tip .... For those of you with granite worktops, this device will bring them out gleaming and streak free. Just wipe the worktops down with slightly soapy water and suck the water away with the vac.

Some versions don't have the spray bottle and cloth attachment, but I imagine a microfibre cloth and some window cleaner would do a similar job. What stops the streaks is the squeegee and vacuum combination, as the cleaning fluid is not being left to evaporate off the glass.

I just got the WV5 Premium from Tesco.
It's 'on sale' at £45 with £3 P&P and is also in the clubcard boost so only used £24 of vouchers to buy it. Bargain
From what I've read the WV2 and WV5 supersede the Classic,WV50,WV60,WV70 models.

I've just bought one of these........and its brilliant! every window, mirror and tile in my house is now gleaming
really quick to use and leaves every surface bone dry!
Thanks again for all the helpful comments! In our new place we have also ordered a built in wardrobe (it's a new build house) which has massive mirrors on it! That and the French doors will certainly end up as my job!
I have ordered for collection and the code worked perfectly. If Quidco tracks, it's a bonus.

No. And I don't even know what grouch is.
But in a more constructive vein - this is an old model, and for £15 more the WV5 premium at Amazon is excellent value, being an updated model and including an extra attachment. I had the old model, and while it worked well it would suck water into the motor even with the water level in the tank being well below full - eventually the motor failed.
Whether this new one fixes that issue I don't know (if you only use it vertically there's no problem) - just be aware.
(The attachments from the old model don't fit the new one by the way).

Looking to buy but like many of these things, you think there is just one, but there are loads. What the hell is the WV60 model? what is the WV50? then as above there is (what looks like the best deal) the WV5 (another model?) at 45 quid free delivery on Amazon. I need to look carefully first. Seems you can easily end up with a basic (older) model.
And... can someone let me know if 'any' cleaner concentrate can be used - I can't see why not - as the Karcher tiny bottle is a rip off price. I can get Pro glass cleaner concentrate cheap (what my window cleaner mate uses) but I don't want to invalidate any guarantee (not that they'd know anyway, so really a worry about sod all).
And can someone tell me why pro window cleaners are not using these? IF they are that good?
