This is a hot deal, if you did any research into the phones out this year you would easily see that this is one of the best (it's actually my first iPhone coming from Android and has been voted the best phone of the year by anandtech).

£150 may be the cost of manufacturing but what about all the development they have to do, all the engineers they have the pay, the patents they have to file , the rent and thousands of other employees they have to pay to retail their products , the millions spent on marketing - do those all come for free , because if they did someone would be making a cheaper iPhone and selling it tomorrow !

To all the people that think this deal is hot. We are trying to get through to you, that this is an average phone at a very over inflated price. For £600 I would at least expect the battery last a week. How many radio stations have had to cut callers off because you can't even make a simple phone call? All phones have weak points, I'm very disappointed in all technology tbh but to then be charged £600 as well is an insult to the customer. Everybody is free to buy what they want but even the most hardened Apple user must surely admit the iPhone isn't value for money.

Hmm...20 quid saving off the RRP? All tech depreciates: being Apple's latest output does not confer immunity.
Making a few assumptions....Let's say that this phone, being Apple, holds its value well, and after a year of use (and a newer model being released) it is still worth 2/3 of its initial value, a little over £400. Or somewhere about that figure. So it has depreciated £200 over the year, your price for a bleeding edge handset, one years use.
Yet this handset was released at the beginning of September, four months ago. So it could be argued that a third of this £200 depreciation has already taken place. Anything less than £66 off the RRP is not such a hot deal IMO.

So for me, its really about what deal can you get on a sim only, then factor in that sim cost and outright purchase price.
Not sure that its much to do with £30 off the handset, but what the whole deal might be over 1 or 2 years. And that can only decided by what sim plan you need...

Value for money is subjective. Some people get a lot of joy from iOS - they enjoy the familiarity they have with it and don't want to learn something new, they find the camera simple to use and they enjoy the integration of iMessage and FaceTime for communicating with family and friends. That's the simple truth as to why people buy iPhones. If you're happy to use an Android device - and I am, though I still choose not to, at present - then run with it, enjoy how cheaply you bought it. No problem with that at all.
I think it's wrong to call people stupid for paying a lot more money for iPhones though, since it's their money and their choice what they spend it on - just as people don't sit outside a Bentley showroom and tell people they should get a Hyundai, or walk around Whole Foods putting people off buying their eggs because they're much cheaper at a farm shop.
Let people buy what they want - they're not stupid; they just think their device is worth the money. You don't - great, don't buy it. No one got hurt.

This is a pointless exercise, though I do understand your reasons to make a comparison.
Argument 1: Some people don't have a lot of cash for an initial outlay that an iPhone costs.

Your better off choosing the phone on its abilities / your requirments, not its resale value.

Unfortunately droids have become the laughing stock of the tech world, just have to look at their own threads they even argue against themselves, always have a read to see what's happening, last one was a refurb deal, it saved them a tenner and people were saying I had to vote hot but why when a new one is a tenner more, unbelievable.

I rarely comment on apple deals as i am anti apple until they wake up and realise that their moment of being cutting edge has past and they need to adjust their pricing structure accordingly. They are good products but £600 for something that is no longer market leading or innovative and costing around £150 to produce (probably less in current climate). I recently purchased the lg g4 from a deal on here, at £225 how can anyone say this £600 deal is hot except for the fact i guess it is currently the cheapest price if you want this particular device. 3 g4s or this...mmmmmm

you are the biggest moron here by making such comments.
Maybe some people value quality, customer service, availability of accessories and years long support?
The new iPhone chip is the fastest out there and nobody has been able to match it so how is that underpowered?
On top of that add apple pay that actually works out side the USA, features that are still announced for unverified source as coming soon and great resale value...
But to make it a bit easier for some to comprehend why people buy iphones...
if you drive a car for example bmw1, why didnt you buy ford focus, or Dacia Sandero, they are the same type of cars. 1 wheels, roof, drives A to B, you could save so much more money

but I can't understand why anyone would spend £600 on a phone!!!!! of any description!
id/have spread out over 24 month
So for me, its really about what deal can you get on a sim only, then factor in that sim cost and outright purchase price.
Not sure that its much to do with £30 off the handset, but what the whole deal might be over 1 or 2 years. And that can only decided by what sim plan you need...
however contract prices have def come down over the years as apple have gradually realised the game is up and real people are starting to buy them .
No one got hurt.
unless you've got a good all in deal
Carry on..
As for overpriced. Here is a real life example on 2 new phones in late 2014:
iPhone 6 purchase price £539
Sold 1 year later for £400
Sony Z3 purchase price £539
Selling 1 year later for £250
Tell me which is better value.
Argument 1: Some people don't have a lot of cash for an initial outlay that an iPhone costs.
Argument 2: The difference between phones could have been invested in stocks , bonds, lottery, premium bonds, who knows what!
Your better off choosing the phone on its abilities / your requirments, not its resale value.
Do you remember when you could get a refurbished grade A model of the iPhone 6 64GB off ebay for 360 bones. Is the 240 extra bones worth it for a near identical phone? It is if you're a moron.
Get over it mate, you're embarrassing yourself
Some good news for the droids something like a third of new iPhones are sold to android users must be as good as they moan about on the dark side.

Just move on and get on with your day?
But there's plenty at £600 too. And you can flubit.
This isn't a deal.
How is this anything but icecold
COLD
It comes back to old battle. Do you go Pc or apple? They are both exactly the same, but the key difference the os, and the name.
Is the os any better? No.
Is the name? Not to millions of skool users it aint.
as for whether iPhone is better worse than android , so far its less useful- there is some subtle quality to the working of it however .
I do kind feel a sheep for paying 30 a month for ANY new phone and contract , when could have had totally reasonable deal for 15
or under a tenner being very prudent
I previously needed the versatility provided by an android phone but now that both iOS and android are more mature and my usage has changed the iPhone provides all the functionality that I need.

The versatility of android compared to apple, is just obvious.
I am not only person
Is this a good deal, or dare I say a Hot deal? it's really a yes or no answer.
I don't understand fanboys, do you have shares in Google or something?
Anyway, I may have missed something here, but thought it was worth asking.
