how do you buy the phone without a goody bag? it looks like it forces you to buy one
illy1965 to cossy3
22 Jan 161#26
You can only buy the phone without a Goodybag if you are already a giffgaff customer, the cheapest one they do is the £5 hokey cokey so it still makes it a good deal but the op needs to be amended so that this extra charge is taken into consideration
markwigg to cossy3
22 Jan 16#27
Cheapest one with the phone is £10, which I still think is a great deal... quidco tracked at £7 so that will cover most of it anyway. Not even going to use the SIM, just taking it as part of the price for the phone.

If your within 14 days you could return and reorder maybe?
Or just email them and see if they refund difference - worth a shot.

Wait so you can get the £30 if you're a new Giffgaff customer but then you have to take the £5 Goodybag, so that's £25 off still?

Quidco states 'Exclusive rate £30 for a genuine SIM activation with handset' so that's a yes

Interesting. Argos have also cut the SIM free price to £299. Now as Apple tightly control presumably they [retailers] are have been given green light to shift stock. Whether Apple will let 5S prices go lower in price will be interesting, and presumably a replacement model is imminent.

I can't see there is a £5 goody bag if you plan to buy the phone together. The cheapest package is £10.

Can someone help me understand what exactly I need to do while buying this phone to get quidco £30 cashback? I am going to use mobile on EE
As I understand,
1. I need to buy phone with £10 goodybag.
2. Then activate giffgaff SIM to get quidco cashback
3. Then replace the SIM with EE one
Is this correct?

You can also use Topcashback and they will match Quidco's cashback offer (I did this on this item a few months ago and it worked perfectly).

As long as you don't have to use giff gaff. Terrible network and signal. Yet could use a phone with an O2 sim in in same place!

iPod touch 6th gen, which is similar spec, without the phone bit, (and thinner / lighter) for £130 ish. Makes a nice companion to a good android phone (its what I do).
This deal seems way too pricy for a two year old (plus) phone to me.

23 Jan 16#49
Have I got it right that you only need to buy the first goodybag when you purchase the phone and can cancel after that. Would this be the same if you took out the contract for 2 years to purchase or just on full cash purchase of the phone.
thelawyer2013
23 Jan 161#51
Really? as all their price plans (goodybags) are 4G speeds using o2's 4G network.
And by looking at the giffgaff community many of their members/customers are happy with the speed and good omnidirectional coverage.

Haha, I was on android and the amount I spent on them cos after 6 months they just end up slowing down it cost me more than just buying an iPhone. Yes they're overpriced I agree but android really doesn't provide a good quality product

These were in the window at Game second hand for more than this! Great price. I used Giff Gaff before and they were very good. All depends how you find the signal for O2 in your area as last I heard that's the network they used along with Tesco.

Giffgaff are owned by o2 so obviously use the same network which is no being bought by three so reception should be fine for everyone

Yes wrong posting - still under giffgaff handsets thanks just ordered for the other half who updated her 4s to iOS 9 and phone now as good as useless - slow and won't charge properly
I've picked up the 32GB with the £10 goody bag. Do they automatically bill you for this £10 goody bag monthly? Do you need to disable this at all?
I ask because at the end it said:
Pay now: £309
Monthly: £10 goody bag (cancel anytime)

You'll need to log into your giff gaff account. On the goody bag section, iirc, there's a tick box for if you want it to repeat or not.

it might be using the o2 network but that's the end of it, Giffgaff has the lowest priority on the o2 network. 4g speeds on Giffgaff don't match 3g speeds of the other networks. cannot stress how bad / poor it is

Think it depends on the handset, company and everything else. There's one Apple, so take it or leave it, but many many android handsets, some better than others.
I tend to keep my handsets for 2+ years without any issue, or slowdown.
