Never understood why the diet was full of far worse stuff than the normal whey. Its retarded. From what I can fathom the only thing that makes this diet is the green tea extract! So basically its higher in calories, higher in fat, higher in carbs, LOWER in actual protein that you want but **** at least it has some green tea extract.
Chalkier than my old school black board as well. Truly a woeful product this one from my experience and that's from a huge fan of MP in general.

Certainly did - but if you explained it then you'd just get ignored. People don't want to hear that they've been wasting money.

The non diet version doesn't contain oats so will mix better as its just a powder.
No matter how well you ground up oats they're still not going to be smooth when mixed with water and drank.

Have you not been on the internet recently? All carbs are now toxic and eating any will cause obesity and diabetes. :stuck_out_tongue:

it tastes like crap, and it has a bunch of crap in it, I have no idea why it's diet whey when it has more sugar and rubbish in it. Do yourself a favour and go for impact whey isolate, it is a huge improvement in content and taste. This stuff only comes in chalk flavour.

whey isolate is twice the price though for the same amount of protein and taste is a personal thing, I've never had any problems with.

If this is putting anyone off ordering, ignore this nonsense
It mixes a little lumpier than impact whey/isolate due to oats but other than that taste is fine
I bought 3kg of Strawberry Shortcake in the deals 2 weeks ago and it is perfectly drinkable. To describe it is "chalk" is just scaremongering IMO.

I don't see sugar in the ingredients sweeteners yes but that's in any flavored protein even in impact whey. It also has green tea extract which is supposed to be a good fat burner and other amino acids in helping weight loss apparently. It has a higher fat and carbohydrates content compared to isolate that is due to added oats for slow release energy and to curb hunger. I think this is ideal for those who want to take this with a balance diet to add protein in the diet. Or to eat between meals as a healthy snack. I bought 2 last time it was on offer a few weeks back for around 27 pounds for 6kg of the stuff. I got a small tub just under a kg of scimx diet pro protein which iam currently using. I was concerned with it effecting digestion and taste but actually taste is quite good. Mixed with a banana today and it was great. After that I will give this a go. I have also started some basic cardiovascular and light kettle bell workout iam looking to lose weight and tone not build. Wish me luck

I think the logic behind it having more carbs etc. is that it fills you up for longer, hence being marketed as 'diet' so you're drinking this instead of eating.
That said, I've got half a bag of choc mint left, and although the flavour is OK, the consistency is visually lumpy, and it tastes like drinking sand.
Spent the extra on PHD and wouldn't swap back now.
From another thread, apparently the non-diet version mixes a lot better.

The amino acid profile is no better than whey. They're virtually identical.
Casein is marked at 77 on the bioavailability charts, whey is 104.
Side effects? You'll only bloat if you're lactose intolerant, which will happen with casein or whey.
Carbs in powders are minimal unless you're comparing it to something like syntha 6. Myprotein Whey concentrate has 4g per 100g and their micellar casein has 6g.
Longer acting - makes nil difference to anything. Protein synthesis is significantly different between casein and a whey concentrate in whey's favour. You're not going to lose muscle mass overnight if you use whey over casein.
No difference in gut absorption.
Apart from all of those things though, good points.

I've never used the diet, but it seems strange that something designed to help you lose fat would have that high a carb and sugar content. If you want to justify that as a meal replacement thing then OK but no nutritionist would ever suggest that these things can act as a proper meal replacement as they just won't give you the same nutrition as a proper healthy balance meal. Maybe every now and then if you are struggling, but these should not be a long term solution.
If you want to lose fat properly and keep it off (rather than a short terms loss, before putting it back on) then focus on clean eating proper foods and training using a mixture of weights and HIIT. Adding supplemental protein is fine in principle but you have to be careful when it also contains added carbs and sugar.
Personally I would go for the impact as you can play around with the carbs depending on your goals - if you're going for a high carb plan then just add your own oats as needed or get your carbs through other sources. At least that way you can control the carb (and the type of carb you use) and sugar content as needed.
The other thing to note is that someone posted the nutritional info and it shows that the diet has less protein per 100g than the whey isolate, but more protein per serving. That suggests to me that you will be expected to use more of the diet product per serving than for the whey isolate so bear that in mind if you are looking at cost as a factor - don't look at the cost per kilo of overall product, look at the cost per kilo of the protein content.

People need to stop banging on about the carb content. Its still low.
Im 5'7 206lbs cutting on 2900 cals.
Why the hell is everyone so scared of carbs? i have 200g or something a day in my current diet.
Its also diet due to the Green tea extract. although diet is a strong word to use just because its got a semi decent fat burner contained in it.

This item is supposed to be used as a meal replacement.
That is why it has more carbs and fats.

To those arguing between this and the isolate, go for the Impact Whey Protein that was posted here. Granted it's more expensive than the diet, but if your carbs need to be looked after it's 4g per 100g and has 30% off. 5KG for ~£40.

To be fair the diet Whey and Impact Whey are 2 entirely different types of product so shouldn't be compared.
The Diet Whey contains ground oats and can be used as a meal replacement as the oats really do fill you and the protein content is a blend of whey and milk. I use it as breakfast and fills me till lunch.
The Impact Whey doesn't fill you up and contains just fast absorption Whey protein ideal to take just after training.

Not to mention its far to expensive compared to other proteins for general use.

1. Much complete amino acid profile
2. Better bio availability
3. Less side effect profile eg bloating
4. Less carb burden
5. Longer acting
6. More efficient gut absorption
Hope that helps.

Think the carbs are there to keep you from snacking etc, it's the green tea that's designed for the diet, I always found this one was great as a supplementary breakfast shake because of the added thickness/oats
