Add promo code: "DDR4" at checkout to get this price along with free delivery option.
Cheapest DDR4 I've seen for this quantity, works out at £3.75 per GB.
Good quality ram, bought the same ram at a higher price previously, working well in my system.

Do you use an aftermarket CPU fan cooler with those massive heatsinks? Just wondering if the height short enough like the Corsair LP ones.

Just a plastic casing, low profile ram but runs cool.

These don't have a massive heatsink so good for large CPU heatsinks.

Thanks, ordered. Do you have this exact version? I think the faster speed is better than having a lower latency grade (CL15 vs CL14) but doubt I'll notice the difference. 16GB is overkill in any case for me but might be of use in the future so for the sake of ~£20 more, it's worth getting.

I'm looking at building a pc around April time... would this memory be ok for any DD4 compatible motherboard? as most go up to 2133mhz... would the memory just run at a lower speed?.

Yes.

It'll be okay, the frequency will just get clocked down to the motherboard's specification. If you enable XMP, you can get a boost though (if the motherboard supports it) but I never used this before myself.

I remember when Ram cost £48 for next to nothing ram.....they were the days!

Exact same model, I just bought 2 separate 8GB sticks as it was cheaper at the time.
Wouldn't worry too much about speed or latency, makes no real difference.

XMP is basically a profile set for the memory that was tested to work up to the specification. You can get the same effect by adjusting frequency and timings yourself, you don't need to use it at all.

Thanks for the explanation. So if a motherboard says it will support up to 2133Mhz, XMP/fiddling around the settings will be of no use as the speed is capped at 2133Mhz by the manufacturer if I understood that correctly?

The 6700K for example, memory wise, is rated DDR4-1866/2133, DDR3L-1333/1600 @ 1.35V from Intel Ark. Which I think is just a way for Intel to give a minimum specification. Features are limited mostly per chipset/motherboard. I don't think any Z170 motherboard will be limited to DDR4 2133MHz but I haven't checked
To answer your question though. Yes, the limitations are usually per chipset/motherboard. I doubt XMP can supersede the motherboards limitations. As you said before, the memory would just run at a lower frequency so it shouldn't be a problem if there is a 2133MHz limit.

Z170 will go 3600+
You'll get a stable clock on these bad boys at around 3000-3200 depending on cooling and mobo.

Unless someone can correct me otherwise, this isn't optimal RAM for an X99 board is it, which would be best with Quad channel, i.e 4x4GB as opposed to 2x8GB?

Quad-channel won't reap you much real-world benefits over dual-channel. I would probably still aim for quad-channel just because it sounds good.
