Okay, so the IWP deal was pretty decent, now they have a similar deal for the Hurricane XS powder. It's not going to be everyone's Shaker of Protein, but i do think it's worth a shout for those that buy it regularly anyway and for other that were waiting for a deal.
Works out cheaper than their previous BOGOF on the 2.5kg bags too
so many protein deals on here you can tell its january and everyone is back to the gym. i give it until feb and all the protein deals will have dried up on yuh lol!

Hehe yeah. I need to go back to the gym, well actually I don't want to, however I'd like to be fitter and I'm going to do it supplement free in 2016. Food water and rest is all I'm going to add to it.

Just watching Trust me I'm a Doctor and Glasgow Uni did an 8 week double blind test on a large varied group of people, half with protein and half with a placebo. No difference...

Which means absolutely nothing more than those people were likely getting enough protein anyway. That's all it is, protein and you need a certain amount per day of around 1g per lb of lbm to facilitate optimal muscle growth when undertaking a rigorous resistance training program.
A far more interesting study would be all of them ingesting the same amount of protein from other sources, meat, fish, eggs etc at around day 50g a day which is far from optimal but near the govt RDA. Then half of them having an additional 100g in shakes whist the others had placebos. That way we would see what difference taking on 150 vs 50 had.
These shakes aren't steroids or anything of the sort, if you're getting enough protein they will add absolutely nothing to your life however getting sufficient protein and staying under a strict calorie budget if you're a big guy is difficult without them I find.

Never seen this before how is this different to notmal whey protein is it just protein mixed with creatine?
Is it any more beneficial than taking protein alone?
Thanks

With this having creatine in it do you have to treat it the same way as having creatine solo as in you should be having 1-2 gallins of water a day while taking this?

Yes pal. Although black coffee, milk will all count towards your daily water intake.

The study was carried out on 24 people which is too small to draw a significant conclusion from. However, the theory is quite sound. A protein shake is simply a convenient dose of protein taken once or so a day and that's it. It's not a crucial magical elixir necessary for muscle growth and most people tend to eat enough protein daily in general.
There's a lot of marketing involved. If there was one brand of protein that was far superior to the rest everyone would buy it but protein is protein.

BBC 2 last night, so will be on iPlayer now. Well worth a watch, a few interesting topics.
2:45 if you want to see the intro to the piece, but go straight to 29 minutes for the start of the 2nd part or 31:50 for results. Basically you waz out most of the protein because people get more than enough with a normal diet.
The show fractures all the content and is really annoying. Other findings were that women burn more fat after exercise if they eat before (22% increase) and men if they exercise on an empty stomach (8% increase). Women are better at using fat for fuel, men carbohydrates.
33 minutes in Mosley showed sports drinks are just expensive sugar and salt and makes his own - something I've been doing for a long time.
There was a thing about antioxidants in smoothies being complete bunk and they actually cause a spike and then a considerable dive in antioxidant levels for a long time. Not on the show but there's research showing antioxidants **** muscle growth so I don't know if you could use this to your advantage.
Also not on the show but might be of use to some of you is avoiding ibuprofen if you're trying to build muscle as it stops the signals that tell your muscles to grow after the micro-tears from exercise. Dr. Karl mentions it fairly frequently on his shows (5 Live, ABC and Triple J).
