I assume the ones slating this phone are iPhone users?
Huawei currently manufacture the new Nexus mobiles, so they definitely are not in the same class as cheapo Chinese phone manufactures like Doogee, etc. The last I checked they were the 3rd biggest phone vendor in the world with sales constantly increasing...
Although, I will admit, before this H7, their support for phones outside of Asia was pretty poor... but they've made a huge effort since the launch of the H7 with vmall/Huawei online shops opening all over Europe, and warranty/repairs all dealt with in the relevant countries.
If you think buying this gives you the same sort of quality and support you'd get from ordering a phone from aliexpress, geekbuying, dx, etc then it just shows how little you understand and should probably abstain from attempting to 'warn' others about purchasing it.
I have this phone and friends always ask what it is and that "it looks a bit like an iPhone 6s Plus". That should tell you all you need to know about the build quality!
For £209.99 with a 'smart band' included you're laughing. Heat added

the__cat to locktheworldout

I'm pretty sure NFC won't be used to transfer any data - it simply sets up a connection between the two devices quickly. The actual data connection will be via Bluetooth or Wifi so you should still be able to transfer files by manually establishing a connection between the two devices.

Fair enough, but since it's a flash sale everyone will be a ordering at the exact same time, you can bet there will be more than 100. It's just that someone might buy it only because of the extra phone, and they might be disappointed when they realise they aint getting one.
Solly92
19 Jan 16#24
Marshmallow is not really a good solution. SD cards will be slower than internal FLASH - substantially slower if you buy a cheap one. If you 'adopt' the card in Marshmallow all data storage goes to the card, so you slow down everything on the phone and waste the faster built in FLASH.
It is a good solution for low end phones which you don't expect to be that fast and don't have much fast FLASH to be wasted.

Honor 7 is a nice phone,
I have the mi4, honor 7 and note 5 (and an Iphone6).
OS - I prefer MIUI, honor 7 then the samsung wiz or whatever,
Hardware/features - I prefer the pen from note 5, then honor 7 (finger print thing, and camera features, like light painting etc), mi4 is just very quick/minimalistic
Robustness - Mi4, Honor 7, then note 5.
The Iphone 6 comes last on all counts, I dont like the OS, too single track/minded. Googlemaps is not the same (it has two). Don't like the stupid mute button on the side. Don't like its just that little too small to use as a GPS. Dont like the keyboard. However - do like the compatibility with other devices,
This may sound like im a bit of a fan boy, but actually I use the iphone most often now (work), so- ideally if I could get on with it I would, but I cant.

Do you own or have you ever owned the phone? Or just going by the general belief I often see here that "all Chinese phones are crap", which roughly translates to "everything except for my (also Chinese made) iPhone/Samsung phone is junk so that I can justify that £500 dent in my bank balance".
I own this phone and am very pleased with it. The only negative aspects for me is the lack of custom ROM support and EMUI (which can be mostly sorted with third party launchers)... but I knew what I was getting myself into when I bought it as I'd owned the Honor 6 prior.
Its never crashed, the screen is fantastic, the build quality seems that of a phone twice the price, the speaker volume is loud, the fingerprint reader is one of the fastest around, the responsiveness and speed during usage is roughly exactly the same as the OnePlus Two - I paid £209.99 when it launched and am more than satisfied, especially seeing as they gave the initial buyers a 3 year warranty upgrade because of slight delays with shipping. Can't complain about that.

I tell anyone here to NOT buy this phone It is a great handset with one serious software bug that Huawei has not solved. Notifications do not come through unless you open apps like Instagram,What's App or Messenger. Even after making sure Protected apps are on & power saving off, notifications turned on nothing still comes through. I didn't have a faulty unit as all you gotta do is Google it and you'll see similar issues with honor 7's everywhere. Sad news as it's a cracking device otherwise. Huawei's notification and app killing software is absolutely terrible

I ordered one of these in bed on Boxing Day from Amazon £175.00 with free delivery, thanks to who ever posted the lighting deal. 23 hours later it was delivered to my front door. I've always had iPhone's in the past but after seeing my uncles brand new Galaxy 6 on Xmas day I decided to upgrade to Android when I decide to get a new phone. The following day the bargain was too good not to buy.
Wow what a phone, easily competes with the £600 range of phones out there and believe me this device takes a royal dump on the iPhone 6

20 Jan 161#45
The hardware looks decent, but the phone is let by Huawei's poor software. The notification bug and the heavy Emotion UI skin is a deal breaker for me. Huawei has a long way to go to compete with the likes of Moto's vanilla Android UI; not bogged down with bloatware, nothing too fancy, just keeps it simple.

Had one of these 16GB Honor 7s on the release for £209. It was a great phone but I got an Argos Price Glitch and bought two S6's for a good price so sold it.
Battery is Great. OS is fine but I had Nova Launcher running anyway. Camera is excellent, best camera I've had except 20mp, forget about it, it forces the image into a smaller box to get to 20mp so in reality 16mp is the best you're gonna get. The LED flash is better than my S6, it's more daylight coloured so get night time shots better.
Definitely no NFC or Quick Charge but not a turn off for me. If my S6 suddenly needed replacing I'd have no issue in buying an Honor 7 again.

Wouldn't be so sure about Quick Charge. I have their Honor 6 which is not in the Quick Charge list. When I connected it to a high current Samsung battery however the Honor 6 charged insanely quickly, about three times faster than normal. So the phone is obviously capable of some sort of fast charging. Thinking about buying a Quick Charge to see if it works.

I beg to differ the battery easily lasted a day with heavy use, i use it at work all day by the time I get home it' on around 285 - 25%
There are a lot of settings used to shut down apps when the screen goes off to save battery. Also different performance modes help with battery life.

Don't be daft. The H7 is a great phone for the money but not better than the S6 or the G4. The dual sim function (which has to be sacrificed if you want to use an SD card) is the only advantage it has over the other two.
Other than that, it has a slower chipset (and a really weak GPU), very low internal memory capacity, slightly worse display, worse camera. Unless you are after a dual sim phone, the £225 G4 is the better buy.

Not really. As I said, the H7 has the feel of a phone twice it's price. It's not plastic with a sprayed coating of metal over it. It's chassis is aluminium alloy. If they added an iPhone logo to the back and put iOS on, sheeple would lap it right up at £500.

I bought the Honor 6+ from Three without a contract (£299.99) and it hangs up calls (when holding the device to your ear, then comes up sim error - doesn't happen on speaker/handsfree) and it also has no end of "Google Play Services has stopped" errors, this is because it is a cheap fudged phone with a dodgy OS that has had GAPPS ported onto it, and not very well either.
Cheap **** Chinese rubbish, I wouldn't EVER buy another thing from them.
Three refused to refund too!

good for you, but you've got a faulty phone. The 6+ reviews very well.
My only criticism of the 6+ is the camera is run of the mill with 50% very disappointing results, but for some excellent close-ups

Hot deal but I've been burned previously by Huawei when I bought a P1 LTE which was a flagship model at the time with the promise of an upgrade to Jelly Bean. It never happened and the handset was abandoned. Not for me but good luck to those buying!

They are a different company now. It's clear their goal in 2015/16 and beyond is to become big players in Europe now that they are the biggest phone manufacturer in China...
The Marshmallow beta is already out for the H7 and the past few days they announced MM for previous devices like Honor 6, 6+ and 4X. They are really trying to get a good reputation now...
It shouldn't have GAPPS ported on if you bought from Three. It should be a phone specifically made for the UK market so a legit GAPPS would be included...
I had the H6 and never had issues with it hanging up calls when it near my ear. Don't the screens automatically turn off when the sensor detects its near your face for this very reason?
Sounds like you may need to factory reset the phone?

Owful service and **** site!my reply to them
Hi
just to let you know - delivery will be refused
Item was ordered from my account and after 24h there is still no sign of My order being tracked
All email is coming to mu paypal mail despite the account mail being different - this is probably why the account is not tracking order.
Obviously your service is at fault, not to mention the lack of information on the promotinal £40 off and Free Smartphone offer promised and not kept or tracked anywhere in my order
Customer service promising something (applying voucher manually on order if not initailly tracked) to be then denied the next day by another representative despite proof of converstaion offered. Owful service
Wanted to give your site a change but unfortunatelly you failed miserably.

Why would they lie about something so silly, especially with such a good bit of hardware for
the money in the first place and having already run this promo before on Jan 14th ??
If they *did* sell them in the first 5/6 seconds, then the 3 orders placed, paid, confirmed and
on their way, 1 hour, 2.2 hours and 14 hours into the "24 hour" window we did, will not come as
they sold the 100 in the first few seconds
Remember that vmall are ONLY a 3rd party seller of these devices as they cannot be purchased
anywhere in the EU direct from Huawei.. so guess they need to try and stay ahead of the grey
importers etc etc
Think some of the bull crap that vMall [offshore] staff are spouting, that maybe Rich [the boss]

You won a free Honor Band Z1, which will be sent to you in the next 14 days. Before you receive your Honor Band Z1 we will update the ‘My Account’ section.

I have ordered precisely 9.31 AM and I haven't received a Z1 watch. I would probably return this phone just for the fact that this promotion was fake. I cant imagine in 1 minute 100 people would have ordered. They have conformed they got 1000 orders in a minute. I wonder why didn't the site crash.
striker33
22 Jan 16#138
Because it's not a fake promo at all. This sale was advertised everywhere. Infact I can bet a lot of people found it just from google ads. Simply typing into honor 7 into google at any point in the last week will result in many adverts for the flash sale + free band on many websites. Not just HUKD.
They probably ordered the winners from whoever entered their code in first. One of the main reasons I used a PC too over phone/tablet.
Oh and 1000 purchases in a minute isn't exactly a lot, especially given its a web store powered by Expansys. It's not like there were hundreds of thousands of sheep clicking at once to buy an iPhone for release day.
The phone is a bargain at £210 regardless. You clearly didn't want it in the first place if you're considering sending it back over something so trivial.

22 Jan 16#139

Long story but here you are:
It was on Amazon before christmas for £209.99. They were also giving £20 code with it (which I used to buy something else from Amazon). I also had £7 voucher they gave me for buying gift card from them the week before. So the total to me was £183. Few days later they had the phone for £175 in lightening deal...I complained and asked for a refund of the difference. I was expecting £35 refund, as many people had (difference between £210 and £175) but they refunded me £75...i guess they thought I bought it for full price (£250)..Obviously I did not complain

Good work - don't think I'm going to be able to repeat that though! Are you happy with it as it only cost £108 - or would you be just as happy if it cost £209?

The first 100 orders of Honor 7 will receive an Honor Band Z1(black) for free. Afterwards every 50th order of Honor 7 will receive an Honor Band Z1 for free. This promotion is only available on the first 5000 Honor 7 orders. Honor 7 purchasers who received a free Honor Band Z1 can only return both products. Please check your account after 24 hours in order to find out if you will receive an Honor Band Z1.
That's a saving of £59.99!
I've not put the specs up as they are in the other post but the Honor 7 is a great phone. I am really liking it.
You need to sign up to get the £40 code and the sale starts 9.30 am GMT on the 21st of January,

Heat added

Post title should probably be changed to reflect this..?
Some nice software touches and a useful hardware button.
No NFC (which was a pain for me as I like to transfer photos from my camera to the phone when I'm out and about)
It is a good solution for low end phones which you don't expect to be that fast and don't have much fast FLASH to be wasted.
Thats not half bad ..... lol.

Even high end phones come with slow memory, outside of Samsung. Good example beign the Z5, something stupid like 45mb/s writ, 90mb/s read, similar to high end micro sd cards.
Wow what a phone, easily competes with the £600 range of phones out there and believe me this device takes a royal dump on the iPhone 6
It charged to full in around 90 mins, that's on par with the Nexus 6P.
or to go for this.
Had one on back order from amazon following the boxing day deals, but they still haven't received stock yet, so at least I know I will now get the phone in time for my cousin how needs it next week.
Also said that should be dispatched today, and received tomorrow.

I currently have LG G4 on MM and there is no way to format SD card as internal memory :disappointed:
Really is time for new battery technology to come in don't you think?
There are a lot of settings used to shut down apps when the screen goes off to save battery. Also different performance modes help with battery life.
The charging of the phone is quick also with quick charge. Think I timed it as 1% per 1 minute and 30 seconds.
Other than that, it has a slower chipset (and a really weak GPU), very low internal memory capacity, slightly worse display, worse camera. Unless you are after a dual sim phone, the £225 G4 is the better buy.
"The winners of the Z1 band will receive an notfication in their vMall account 24 hours after they placed the order. "
Therefore why some people have got it in their confirmation makes it confusing, either that or they are troilling!
Probably worked out cheaper for them to use Expansys' warehouse/staff to store and process orders instead of Huawei opening their own, etc.
In regards to my account, because I paid via paypal, it overwrote the email address and can't be changed, so I am unable to track it in my account. They did however said my phone has already been dispatched.
Disappointed about the watch, but as 008 said, still got the phone for £209.99
For reference, I bought it right on 9:30. I literally spammed the code in the checkout page till it accepted it, presumably once their servers hit 09:30, paid with paypal.
