I upload these myself and make sure they are 100% legitimate updates. They are digitally signed anyway so they flash with the stock recovery so it's quite hard for somebody to provide a fake update as it just won't flash.

Surely if not you could buy it again and request a refund on the original purchase, returning the new unit as if it were the first?

I have been in touch with Huawei Customer Services who, as expected, weren`t particularly helpful since the patch was downloaded from an unofficial source. However, they have directed me to https://www.honorvipservice.co.uk/ which offers replacements for faulty devices that are within warranty- since I`m yet to unlock the boot loader, I would be making the argument that product should be considered to be still under warranty..

Bought directly from Huawei and in any case I doubt even Amazon would replace items ruined by third party firmware issues so I would advise others to think twice before attempting this update..

Could be a way to go, flash the original firmware.

I did see something on XDA about infinite loop after updating firmwares.

Send back to amazon for a replacement, should be quick easy.

I suspect any fix would involve unlocking the bootloader thus voiding the warranty (not that I expect the Huawei warranty to be worth the paper its written on) and, more crucially preventing future OTA updates. Not too sure on this count though-do you reckon the mere fact that I reflashed the device using stock ROM would stop OTA updates or does it only apply to custom ROMs?

Do we need a fast charger with this? Or is the one provided sufficient?

Only thing I can think of is it maybe a corrupted download when it was downloaded.

it is worth trying again..it will depend on the person you speak to...I had refunds on 3 different items in the last two weeks when their prices dropped.. no problems at all

Many people on HUKD did that...just call them and say that you want them to refund the difference as the phone has dropped in price (although I called them when the lightening deal was on !!). I am sure you will get a refund but it will be very likely for the £35. I think my £75 was pure luck

I updated exactly as advised on the download link yet ended up with a bricked phone- I have found a possible solution on XDA but its not a guaranteed fix so it looks like the phone may have to be returned for repairs. Have come across other users (including one on the download thread) who have encountered similar problems so I would advise others to wait for OTAs instead

Upgraded from B121-130-140-170 as stated in the link but the phone has ended up in a 'boot loop' after the upgrade to B170. Puzzled as it installed ok and looked legit. Just hope I haven`t bricked it-any fixes?

I got this for only £175. Fantastic value, so many thanks to the OP.

I decided to go for it. Delivered 8am yesterday. I like the width. Weight is perfect and we'll balanced, and nice and trim. Reminds me very much of the HTC top end phones. Perfect for me, as dual sim has become a must in a phone.

After 24hrs I am very happy. I would recommend going to modaco and do the updates first in case you have issues, but it is very simple to do.

I don't use NFC at the moment so no big loss. Everything else I want comes with the phone. For £175 its a bargain. So much better than the clumpy honor 6+.

This in no way resembles a mid range phone, feels premium to me and specs back it up.

Know expired but anyone wondering, this phone is fantastic. Software very Apple like so good transition phone for anyone who had an iPhone. It is as good as n iPhone in most respects. It looks and feels high quality. Even the packaging is at or above Apple standards. I have iPhones and LG G4, as well as I Mac, ipad and Samsung Galaxy Tabs. Whilst I still buy Apple Macs, Apple don't stand out enough now on phones or tablets to justify the purchase- the Android equivalents are often now better. The phones in particular are vastly overpriced so Apple lost me. This Honor 7 is astonishing for the money, try it, break your perceived Apple 'reliance on ecosystem' (it doesn't exist- Facetime is about the only thing worth the tag, Google photos with its unlimited upload storage is substantially better than iPhoto) and save yourself literally thousands on phones and contracts going forward.

Very nice, sadly I'm torn between getting honor 7, xperia z2 (199.99 at Argos), LG G3 (used on ebay for 32gb version for around 150/160). If the honor 7 was 175 again I might just get it and send it back if not impressed. I'm sick of the Moto G 2014 4G 4.5" as the wifi on lollipop cuts out a lot and VLC player also stops when streaming.

Had a Z3 Compact for a year cracked the screen once had it repaired then on Xmas day this year it fell off my bed and cracked again (tempered glass didn't really work well) :disappointed: had enough of the z3 it's too delicate!

Yes, there have been 5 updates since September for the Honor 7. The device was only launched at the end of August and the first update B121 rolled out around the 28th of September which fixed most of the battery issues.

Think I would still stick to two phones in those situations!! one you can burn:) yeah the battery on my nexus is flailing a little after 18 months,

I did incremental upgrades - B121 (which it came with) to B130, B130 to B140, B140 to B170 - only took 15 mins.

If you have a work phone and a personal phone and need to be contactable on both then dual SIM is an excellent solution. I'll never carry 2 phones in my pockets ever again since owning a dual SIM phone.

Not only work phones though, drug dealers, wife cheaters, politicians and other dodgy geezers all potentially need 2 phones at any one time.

Do you have a link for the B170? I understand this fixes the WhatsApp fault from B140, which I need. I can only find people sharing B170 on questionable file sharing sites, not sure I want to test something that isn't proved to be official!

The original shipped Firmware had battery issues, but these were resolved in the B121 update and improved further in B130 and B140 updates. I regularly get over 2 days out of the battery on my Honor 7. They have been listening to feedback from social media and forums and providing updates quite regularly. Latest update for Lollipop B170 came out a few days ago and there is a beta Marshmallow update available if you fancy living on the edge.

You dont need to threaten..they are very helpful. Just say you bought this phone and now the price has dropped and ask if they can refund the difference. This is my third price difference refund this week on items I bought from them..Top class customer service

assuming the S6 on o2 is new...close call..and it will depend on what exactly you need most

s6 has an amoled display which is best in its class. so the s6 trumps there (which is no discredit to the hh7 mind you which does have a great display) but that also means you sacrifice a bit of battery on the s6. I would think battery is better on the h7 compared to everything I have read on the s6 user reviews (I spotify, tweet, whatsapp, hukd, check mails regularly during the day and end up with 20 pc charge in the end

you also have to think of whether you need extra storage or an extra 2g sim..h7 has that but the s6 doesn't

also, one thing I love about the s6 is the music output when on headphones. matched only by the iphone. so if you are an audiophile, this will matter too. h7 is fine here

If people want to grab this then why not just sign up with a different email address?
