Just spotted this on AO.com, seems a lot of TV for the money, 1000hz aswell
i guess the name Hi sense may put some people off but they seem up and coming, I guess you gotta start somewhere ;-)
only 2 reviews and the bad one is irrelevant of picture quality!

+ 4% cashback through quidco. Assume it will be on the listed price of £1099 minus £40. So, a potential further reduction of 42 which might bring the price down to £817 :-)

If you are going to stand this up, rather than wall mount it, then, by the look of it, you will need a huge unit to put it on.

Broken TV? Don't think so buddy.
I stand by the 'tosh' statement as not seen any evidence of it with my Hisense and I am watching it and picture is amazing. Let's face it some people always need something to moan about these days!
Still each to their own

If you refer to my first comment, I said 'I guess most people wouldn't see it' But some of us have and Hisence confirms the problem and are addressing it in a future update.

Call it 'Tosh' all you like, if you like your TV and you cant see a confirmed problem which a company are using valuable time and resources to fix - good for you.

I've laid the out facts, with proof from Hisence UK for all to see. You're 'Tosh' comment is pure opinion, I've given facts...
Actually I am talking 'Tosh' Hisence are releasing a firmware update just to satisfy the RS sales rep and myself. We are the only people who have reported this problem. We are grateful that a company will roll out a mass FW update just for us...

See this little  It's you getting burned :P

Im about to order this tv. Can anyone tell me the best 3d glasses to buy, also do any active glasses work with the hisense or is it only certain ones.

thanks in advance

I'm a massive oled fan, and Hisense are actually working uled, which is inbetween normal led and oled at half the price of oled (with less risk of burn-in.
venu44 to kr00t0n
31 Jan 16 #56
That's correct.

The 4K tech is on a serious learning curve at the moment too, with manufacturers finally agreeing on a protocol for the future.

Because of this, it's this spring's gen to jump in at last.

Hisense has the right balance of features, screen size and price point to make a huge splash too.

The outgoing tv's are fine, but as soon as you started spending hundreds you might as well pay the difference more and get the latest model.

Only circa 10 weeks away. Why not wait ? If anything these older sets will be even cheaper to clear.
venu44
31 Jan 16 #45
Anyone that buys a hisense instead of waiting for the new and competitive-priced all-new range in April is a little foolish.

Any hisense with a gigantic long part number is now the old range. The new range is far far more impressive and has tremendous new tech built in.
poisondwarf to venu44
31 Jan 16 1 #46
I dont mind buying old range tech
At the end of the day, old range tech will usually be...

1) much cheaper than when it was new
2) maybe only 6 to 12 months old
3) might have already had a couple of updates to iron out initial software issues.
4) and yes, it will be outdated.

I can live with all of the above, but i do love my 2/3 year old 50" LG plasma
chegz60 to venu44
31 Jan 16 #47
At the end of the day it's not foolish it's just about economics and same could be said about any thing you buy!
There will always be something around the corner with some sort of improvement which you may or may not want or need. That will inevitably come at an extra cost which surely is not what HUKD is about.
Alanis Morrisette song 'Ironic' springs to mind
cleverdic to venu44
31 Jan 16 #53
The press releases so far only suggest 65" models being sold as the H7C and the H10C.
I'm not sure what is considered to be the replacement for the K700. Is it the H7C? If so, I don't see a 65" replacement for the K720 as the H10C will be ULED. In my opinion this would be a disappointing move and not impressive at all.
cyclonus10
31 Jan 16 #52
There are no perfect TV's but you don't expect similar issues with a TV that costs twice as much as the inferior model.
chegz60
31 Jan 16 #51
You could always wait until they invent the 'perfect TV'. Maybe a long wait as no doubt someone will find a flaw in perfection!

31 Jan 16 #49
Yeah the LG 55EG960 (still not perfect) will be in the price range in a few months lol
mcfly666
31 Jan 16 1 #48
To say I'm talking 'Tosh' is a bit strong, even the sales rep in RS saw it when he put the set on demo. Different people see different flaws in TV's. Some avid plasma users cant even get on with LCD tech.

Have a word with Hisence UK, They wouldn't be fixing 'Absolute tosh' with a firmware update if they didn't need to!
I so happen to have a screenshot, though I'm glad you like your broken TV.

most flat panel TVs have poor sound. hence so many people buying sound bars. better to get a home cinema system and use optical/digital interconnects into it.

31 Jan 16 #42
Haha , it is when your looking a the Sony equivalent beforehand .

I ain't sure if it's the same with this high end TV ,but the one thing that let's my TV down is the sound .
it's either to loud or to quiet , when watching a film the dialogue can be hard to hear but then the explosions wake the dead .Obviously not ideal with a sleeping baby in the cot .

on the flip side there is plenty of range when the volume is up.

sweet lord save your money for OLED. It is the only worthy t.v upgrade right now.
jj_jj to jokerevo
30 Jan 16 1 #29
absolutely 100% yes! I changed from Plasma to LCD a year ago in favour of fully integrated smart features.... what a terrible mistake... Im now waiting for OLED to become reasonably priced (next xmas) and then Ill upgrade. If you have the cash, fairplay. However if you have a sensitive eye to poor contrast and motion, spend minimum now and wait for OLED to be in your budget we are probably talking months, not years.....
Locknloadharry to jokerevo
30 Jan 16 #33
Your very nearly correct.....OLED yes, but your next tv needs to be HDR (High dynamic range) really.
cleverdic to jokerevo
31 Jan 16 #40
If you're well off and got money to burn, then yes but we're comparing a 65" mid to high end TV at less than £900 with an OLED at well over two grand.
If you read the development of OLED particularly with LG's plans, then I don't see a 65" for much less in the next couple of years; maybe at a guess around the £1500 mark in that time.

Now HDR is the one to watch......

What issues with apps ? Netflix , iplayer and youtube work flawlessly on my cheap hisense k321.

To me the smart features of a tv are irrelevant when you can buy much better options such as a chromecast/AFTV box

now this is what i thought, but ive been doing my research and to be fair there new to the UK but have been massive in asia and north america for years, a big player in there own part of the world.. I wouldnt spend that on a Panasonic now days, but 5 years ago they were the one to have, 10/20 years ago it was Sony all the way...Again the lower priced i wouldnt touch, so many problems with the apps.

I work with security systems a lot of the high priced cameras that come from the Japanese/German/Scandinavian makes are no better than the lower priced Chinese/Korean makes that are flooding the market.. The quality on some of the latest kit is superb and the reliability has been proven..
I think we are in the days of just paying for a name now on a lot of electronics.
mcfly666
30 Jan 16 #25
To be fair I guess most people wouldn't see it. but it's one of those things that once you see it cannot be unseen.
To try and describe it is hard too, at a push its like when you get buffering when watching online content, it's very slight but it's almost as if the processor cant cope, the buffer fills up and you get a hiccup or judder.

I've spoken to hisence UK about it and they say it will be fixed in a march update - bit too much of a risk for me.
