Most people are too sugar adapted, that's the problem. Nothing wrong with this if you're not, but otherwise, yeah, it won't taste as good. Everyone benefits from less sugar.

No wonder it's reduced.

you dont have to download the app then keep on counting the sugars. all you need to do is to sit down, relax, eat in moderation and you will be fine.

It's not glucose that is the problem but fructose. Although I'm not sure how much fructose is in tomato ketchup. There is nothing wrong with tomatoes in their true form, same as any fruit or vegetable due to the fibre that comes with it when whole. It's a complex subject but worth reading 'sweet poison' by David Gillespie if you want to know more.

Fructose is not really the problem, of course it is in excess but then again so is everything. Fructose is found in fruit honey etc. Sucrose, table sugar, is made up of glucose and fructose. If you know the sugar content, you can estimate the fructose content by halving it. Tomatoes aren't that high in sugar so lets say for regular heinz it's 20% sugar which means that per tablespoon (15g) there is about 1.5g of fructose.
Too much sugar is a problem regardless of the form.
Pickle is a chutney which generally involves sugar. The labeling is quite clear on the back of the sugar content and please consider you don't eat a whole jar of pickle at once. Unless you really like it.
A fruit smoothie is made of fruit and chances are it's all naturally occurring sugars from the fruit. Again, 750ml is the whole bottle, you are supposed to drink small glasses of the stuff. Did you really need an app to tell you a fruit smoothie contains a lot of sugar?

I would recommend anyone to get this app for your phone or tablet, It will open your eyes as to how much SUGAR there is in our food, Most savory food is full of it under one name or another,
Just scanned these two
Original pickle 520g 29 and a half Spoonfuls
Fruit Smoothie 750 ml with a Childs face on the carton 20 spoonfuls

A relatively small observational study suggesting a link to blood glucose is not conclusive proof it's a risk factor for dementia. From your link:
Sugar is heroin for the masses.. Pretty sure it also rots the brain eventually (Alzheimers. Yup, to much sugar
is pretty evil stuff..

I know #hatersgonnahate but this genuinely tastes better IMO - contains more tomatoes than the standard version so not sure where the 'half it's missing' comments are founded from...

Got to agree with the general sentiment, if Heinz could have improved it by taking out all the sugar and salt they'd have done it in the 60's.
Whilst I would agree that we should be looking to remove some sugar and salt from the diet, unless you drink it by the bottle, I'd rather use a bit less, than end up with an inferior product.
Good price though!

Good deal. I think i'll stock up on them as the bottles of heinz tomaato ketchup in £land are tiny. I'm using this one with my dinners at the moment and it tastes good to me. There is a slight difference to the normal Heinz tomato ketchup but nothing major.
