Shove it in a cupboard and watch the next ungrateful kid open it next year :D

it is brilliant, I bought one years ago for myself and built it... it still sits in my garage and I click the button sometimes just to see a working engine rather than the lump of crap in the full size car sitting next to it...

Sod the kids, this is the type of gift that you barge them out the way of, take over for an hour or two and munch chocolates!

To be fair on ungrateful kids - these are pretty crap to be honest.

might be crap to you pal, but to a 6 year old child they are wonderful, and infinitely better than computer games etc etc.
My son absolutely loves building these things, they are educational and great fun.

bought one for my son, who's 6. Granted I paid full whack but he loved it, despite me doing most of the building..

Sadly though any educational value a 6 year old might derive from this engine will be largely irrelevant in 10 years time, when he/she looks at the hybrid and electric engines of their day.

This looks excellent, I'd have bought one if I could get the free delivery code to work (I know, it is still a bargain - but I'm a tightwad).

There will still be plenty of engines converting chemical energy into kinetic energy via a thermodynamic cycle in 10 or 20 years time, many of which will be compression engines much like this one.

I don't think that is the sort of educational value a 6 year old gets from these type of activities, it is engaging for their little inquisitive brains.
I think the technology is completely irrelevant. Do you think every creative pioneer in history learned their skills at 6, or was the creativity seed planted by ensuring their brains were being fully engaged.............!?

Great. Ordered 2 to put away for next Christmas. Have bought this and the motorbike previously and they are very good.
Debenhams also have the motorbike one for a few pounds more than this

Would just like to point out a hybrid car ( I know you said hybrid engine) has a petrol/diesel engine and a electric motor.
And its a electric motor not electric engine.
