And yes, I'm proud and will look fabulous in my newly acquired attire. £300 for £7.94, "that's going straight in my basket". Hahaha

No I read them, you said it was overpriced tat when full priced, so presumably when not full price its reasonably priced tat, I'm just asking why you would want to buy rubbish clothing from anywhere?

You seem put out that they didn't give you something for free because you used a code you found on the internet, that was obviously an error. You're the one jumping on bandwagons, not me.

Extremely bad Customer Service.. they don't even offer a '£5 voucher off your order' for the inconvenience lol! Orders cancelled everybody!! Just received email.

Thank you for your recent order from Apricot Clothing online.

Unfortunately, on this occasion due to an unforeseen technical issue that affected our website, we have had to cancel your order in accordance with our online shopping terms and conditions.

If your order was solely for clothing or accessory items, all items within the order will be refunded directly on to your original method of payment and this has been processed by us today.

If your order was for (or included) an online gift voucher of any value (which is automatically delivered via email), any such gift voucher(s) received by you as a result of this technical issue is void and cannot be used. If any gift voucher(s) received by you have already been used to place subsequent order(s) for clothing or accessory items, these order(s) will be cancelled also. Any monies paid to us for online gift voucher(s), along with any monies paid towards subsequent orders using the online gift voucher(s) will be refunded directly on to your original method of payment and this has been processed by us today.

Depending on your bank or building society, in some cases refunds can take up to 3 - 5 working days to show in your account, however funds are often returned faster than this.

Is this about misusing a code or about the degree of discount? Because if it's the former, I'm guessing you're against the sharing of student discount codes or account-specific ones too. If it's the latter, where do you draw the line? What if it was a glitch for 30% off? 50%? 80%?

Potentially - might be worth asking a New Look store for example? Sometimes concessions vary, so it's best to check I guess. I don't think there was a barcode on my voucher, so I assumed it was just an online voucher? Failing that, maybe find out when it expires and order something when they have more in stock.

You mean my post of a phone application, of which there are frequently such reductions on digital goods (as opposed to physical), which didn't involve using a code of very questionable origin to get the discount, and which was displayed as a prominent offer on the Google Play store on a specific product?

Gee, I wonder what the difference is. And to consider that's the best you found from looking up the deals I've posted...
spyro123
17 Jan 16 #202
Can you explain your deal that you posted with 93% off...
Ashe
17 Jan 16 3 #201
I accept that some people think this is a decent deal, and you should accept that some people think it's very morally questionable. I have every right to comment on it and people's actions.

Also, funnily enough, being a member on here doesn't make it necessary to agree with every single deal posted. There's no 'double standards' here, just the simple fact that people can judge some 'deals' differently because they *are* different. A discount code of very questionable sources for 99% off, that's certainly different to most deals.

But, those on other sites may well be abusing this glitch. Naughty people!
ScorchingHot
17 Jan 16 1 #198
Are you guys STILL harping on about this rubbish? Just accept that some people think this is a decent deal. Some people decided not to go ahead and get a £50 voucher, or multiple, for 'moral' reasons. It's funny really, you're all members on here, yet when someone posts something that, in my humble opinion, is a good deal, regardless as to whether it's a mistake, a marketing/sales ploy, or whatever else, you seem to think it's okay to jump down people's necks.

If you don't like the deal, that's fine, nobody's held a gun to anyone's head and asked them to *buy* these vouchers at a cost-cutting price. As someone else mentioned, this company are still making a killing, regardless as to how cheap they sell things off. Makes me laugh, people post other things that should be £2 or whatever, selling at £0.10p, yet that gets ridiculous heat, and is seen as a bargain... double-standards much?

Maybe not, but someone could end up losing their job over this. Infact, dare say it - they probably will. A full weekends worth of business ruined - again, facilitated by advertising this code.

Come back and bite people in their behinds if each code did charge £50 and some people end up being overdrawn. Ha.

Can you only use these vouchers online, or can they be used in store do you think? On the PDF (or whatever format it was in), it didn't seem to have a barcode, so I'm assuming maybe it's only an online code?

PS: I found a couple of things in stock, not in my size, but in stock.
topss
17 Jan 16 #113
I didn't bother with the GC, but there seems to be no item of clothing actually in-stock. Obviously I haven't checked every single one, but the couple of dozen I have all show 'Unfortunately we only have -1 in stock at present so we have amended the quantity of products to -1'. This was from the min the deal was actually posted. So they may already have been aware of the glitch and zeroed out all their stock while they fixed the glitch. Not sure if anyone actually placed an order?

17 Jan 16 #119
There is no way this will be honoured. Can't see anything in the T&Cs about mispricing, only about refusing orders "for any reason".

I wouldn't involve myself in this, the company has every right to go after those who use it as there is probably a clause in the T&Cs of the voucher code itself preventing misuse. If any voucher codes have been used I'm sure orders will be cancelled and, if items have already been dispatched, e-mails demanding payment or return of products sent out.

I voted hot in this thread without thinking, wish I could change it to cold now...

Why is there so much negativity on this site these days? If you don't approve, then just keep your comments to yourself. If you're not adding anything to this thread, and you're merely just here to attempt to wind people up, then why not visit your local playground! It's not 'THEFT' because we've all paid for it. It's a mistake on their behalf, so someone within Apricot can get their butt kicked for this colossal error!
sheppy01 to ScorchingHot
17 Jan 16 2 #82
So if you APPROVE its ok to comment? and I suppose you have never made a mistake? Here's hoping you dont get a penny off them , I'll go to the playground then whilst you firstly learn the definition of theft and secondly consider what kind of example you are setting posting idiotic comments.
HedgyHoggy to ScorchingHot
17 Jan 16 5 #106
Almost everything you said is wrong.

1. 'If you don't approve, then just keep your comments to yourself. ' - why would we do that? If I see someone robbing a house, should I not say anything? Questions of morality are EXACTLY when people should comment.
2. 'If you're not adding anything to this thread' - we are. Moral balance.
3. 'It's not 'THEFT' because we've all paid for it.' - indeed, but it is damaging misuse of confidential information. A simple question I could ask you is 'Why do you deserve 99% off this product - what was the offer, the 'deal'?' - to which you can have no answer at all. There was no deal, no offer.
4. 'It's a mistake on their behalf, so someone within Apricot can get their butt kicked for this colossal error!' - NOPE it was not a mistake, it was the purposeful release of an internal code by an Apricot employee on Facebook. It was a deliberate action to damage the company by an employee, which you have now taken part in. Not that you will face any consequences, it's not worth their time, although obviously that person will lose their job at the very least.
5. You can't win this argument, because you are 100% wrong. Just live with your guilt, you seem to be doing okay so far.

Some pretty stupid comments on here again today.

Anyway, the voucher seems to be doing the rounds on several 'voucher sites', facebook and of course here. So there will be literally thousands of orders for potentially millions of £s. Personally I cant see them honouring them, unless people have already managed to use it. Even then, I guess they may stop the orders from getting dispatched tomorrow morning. Always raises suspicion that these glitches seem to happen over the weekend, giving the company the opportunity to cancel the orders.

Similar to that Microsoft Office glitch a couple of weeks back, with most people then crying why it took so long for refunds to appear. Lets hope this lot have a more robust refunds system in place.

It would be good to hear if someone has actually placed an order for an item of clothing with the gift voucher though.

17 Jan 16 2 #66
This is nonsense, I have an email which STATES they will deduct £0.50 from my debit/credit card. They cannot legally take £50.00 from my current account, without my authorisation, and if a company even contemplated doing this, they would be facing legal battles left, right and centre. This is not some 'backstreet' retailer, as they have stores all over the place, and I for one, do not believe for a single second they'll be taking £50.00 out of my account....

Most importantly, THIS ISN'T A DEAL. This is the misuse of an internal code in order to FRAUDULENTLY get a 99% discount on a purchase. You know this, I know this, so please don't pretend this is anything like a 'deal'. It's no different to when cash machines go crazy and start giving out too much money. You'd probably take the money then too, right?

If you saw someone at a carboot sale selling a solid gold bracelet for 50p would you buy it? If 'YES!' them this Apricot deal is for you. Get 20 vouchers, in fact. Enjoy your 'shopping'.

17 Jan 16 3 #58
Surely it is fair game while it works. If they want to cancel the vouchers then they can, if they want to honour them then they can. They don't HAVE to supply the goods even if you have paid so its up to them what they want to do about it. I don't understand all this "your stealing from them" business. They really should not have made the code in the first place - lets be honest. No one user on this deal is any better or worse than anyone else so get over it.

17 Jan 16 #57

So you chose not to buy them, that's great. Nobody actually cares. As you can see, some people have chosen to buy these, so why don't you just toodle off with your brain-dead comments, and leave people to do as they please? It's not really affecting you, is it? You do not own this store, nor is the impact of this 'glitch' going to have any negativity on yourself generally. If you don't approve of 'deals' etc, then this begs the question why you're even a member on this site really, doesn't it.
