I had one, back when they were £12, thankfully, I got refund after debating with the owner of the local store.
You get a USB dongle with it, and the remote is pretty much useless as a remote control.
As far as I remember, it's not very responsive, and you have to press the wrong button to make it do the "correct" thing. There's no rw/ffd or skipping, no power button.
As a DVD/Bluray remote it's useless - and you might as well as carry on using the gamepad or a Logitech Harmony (That does bluetooth).
Quite frankly, if you're short on cash, just forget it, and carry on using a gamepad, and if you've got a bit of cash to through about, get a good Logitech Harmony remote that does bluetooth. (I personally use a Logitech Harmony Ultimate, to control all my gear, a well worth investment)
Sure it's only ~£3 to give it a punt, but really, you're better off spending that on some cheap DLCs.
Actually, I don't - I tell people it's a waste of cash, because of my own personal experience, or I've read a shower of poor reviews! And believe me, if I could have cheaped out and just used a remote for £12 back when these things came out, I would have done, just out of ease of use for my wife. The only reason, I've now got a Harmony Ultimate, because they were cheap for what you get - back around black friday I think it was!

Absolutely useless piece of junk. The official ps3 remote was excellent, this is trash. Nine responsive and hardly any features. Stick with the game pad over this.

If this means that the kids don't have to use my new Gold DS4 then i'm all for it.

I came here to say this. It's called Viera Link on my Panasonic plasma but it's the same thing.
Turn on the feature on both the TV and console, make sure the HDMI cable for the PS4 is in the appropriate port, and off you go! One less remote, most of the same features.

For this reason I don't think Sony would make a remote for the ps4

I tried that, it get's very annoying as when I went to use something other then the PS4 the TV remote turned it on, meaning you then have to get the dual shock, turn it on, then turn the PS4 off again before you can use what you actually wanted.
Plus all my remote would do is pause and unpause. Still can't justify £40 for the PDP one.
Wish they would just make one that works at a reasonable price! Or an Android app that actually works.

Might as well get this as Sony has no plans to release an official remote. Sony don't want owners to use the ps4 as a media device as they think it would stop people from buying games and just use it for things like Netflix which Sony can't make any money from. Looks like Xbox is now the console of the people.

The other comments about this being rubbish are very true. It would not allow me to even start the bluray on mine because you could not navigate to the right item to start playing.

I bought one for 50p and was ripped of. It doesn't work.

I never owned this myself and just ordered it. Surely I can talk about my experience when I try it. I cannot find any video review of this as well to justify it myself.
Well, actually I have now read some of the latest comments on previous deal and I can see some people are having issue with their product, but I think it is a hit and miss. I am not sure what to say now really. All I think is the price with free delivery is fair, so I will just wait to see how it works myself.
And I would never spend heavy money on a remote for a console as I believe it is a very useless accessory for a console.

You get what you pay for. I have one and its not a patch on the ps3 remote. I'd advise saving your cash until Sony release a decent remote. I can't navigate round blu ray menus etc with this.

If you really must have a "cheap" remote for the PS4, import the real thing from Amazon USA, http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-4-Universal-Media-Remote/dp/B00ZJRHSZO(It's as close as you're going to get to a SONY one, since they've said they're not making one, but have given license to PDP to make one for themhttp://www.pdp.com/products/universal_media_remote_for_ps4 )
