"Congratulations! Your 500MB of free data each month for a year has been activated."
Bought a 2gb for 30 day sim from ebay, registered, no top-up, and got this text.
I have searched and can't find the offer so don't know why I qualified.
Really sorry I don't have more details but it is worth checking it out for 500mb per month for a year.
My first post so please only small knives.

I can assure you that it is not fake otterboxer. I've learned my lesson and you will be pleased to hear that I will never post anything again. I have nothing to do with the EBay seller. I was asked where I got the sim so posted it. Absolutely gutted!

how do you activate it, on re website or by just using the SIM in your phone? cheers. l understand with this seller it's expired, but l purchase from another seller and l spoke to them to send it to me by the deadline for activation, 31 January and asked the helpful lady if this SIM had the monthly 500mb. she said one of her customers mentioned that she received a message saying so after she input the SIM. please double check yourself, as l'm risking it taking the view in the worst case scenario there is always the 2gb to be used.

Theoretically when you put the sim into the device it takes you to the EE web page which invites you to activate it.
Mine didnt & EE sent me to the local EE store where they did it for me (although it took them 20min).
KR
I realise that this is now expired but you should be warned that as far as EE is concerned FREE means pay £10 /m so this is actually a bonus of 500mb per topup.
I bought one of these in the xmas promotion and telephoned to activate it - was told that under the T&C (Not mentioned on the big 5'x3' posters in store) the free data in conditional on purchasing a top-up of at least £10 each month.
I had to go through a long process & raise a complaint to get them to accept that under the TSA rules free means without additonal cost and that their adverts did not include the need for top-ups.
good luck to those of you who have bought this.

My data has been slow over the last 24 hours, it was only like this on Christmas day. I don't think it's anything at your end.

Cheers for your help, Do these Sims show any expiry dates or when they have to be activated by? If I was to buy and keep until a later date say a few months away activate it any idea if that would work?

Just to confirm, I received my sim this morning and I activated the sim and I did get a
text of 500MB free for a year. Had to switch off wifi and turn data on but it was slow.
Got there in the end. It did mention this was a christmas promotion. I ordered the sim
as soon as I read this thread and so was lucky as there were only 8 left.
Great bargain but the test will be when I use it outside. Got 2gb to use for 30 days then 500MB a month kicks in

People are voting cold because its fake. Either the ebay seller or a friend if theirs posting. No links for this "deal" can be found so there's no way of substantiating it. Ooh unless I buy one from that seller....

The op clearly linked to ebay but administration refused it. The username from ebay is above. And the deal was live when posted. Stop moaning.

Or everyone who voted cold or think it's fake could have just googled it!!!
useful for next time.. go to ebay home page and besides the search button, there is an advance button and then you can enter the user id given and his listings will be shown

I apologise if I misled anyone, that wasn't my intention. I have benefitted from several deals so thought I'd share something that may be of use. If you read the link posted by raj75 it should be available until 31st January.
Sorry.

Sounds good. I have a 500MB allowance, and I use it quite a lot for email, iMessage, web and lots of other things and I usually manage to use about 300-400MB in a month, sometime less.
