Lol I see I see. V III I liked too, I like all 1-9 just after is terrible and 7 gets too much credit. Back in the day I much preferred Wild Arms and still do!
V is real good too!

27 Jan 16#53
Nah...the story in vii was Amazing...so in depth and clever!...the characters the music. Its also about nostalgia aswell i guess?
Also xv looks amazing to...hopefully its gonna be released soon!...
And cloud has to be the coolest lead in any FF game...Surely?!...

No FFVII is one of the most overrated. It's ok just at the time it blew peoples minds but it isn't as good as you remember. The 3d characters have aged badly but it had good mini games. IX is the best for old school, decent story, top graphics, great battle system and wide variety of characters, no emo rubbish, tetra master, excellent side quests etc etc.
However my friend, final fantasy died after the PlayStation 1. I haven't played a good one since! Don't talk to me about X cos it's worse than XIII. Blitzball is too easy and gets boring quick, as soon as you get brother you never lose. The characters suck, bad voice acting and a bad story with Sin. No world map and no sidequests til late game. Awful levelling system and the most annoying protagonist ever. I do not understand while people like it. Thereafter its all downhill.

Now do I go for 8 & 9 too? Been a while since I played them too

Huh, so you can. Thought they'd killed all PSN stuff on the PSP itself, my bad.

22 Jan 16#48
True but it will still show your software list so although you can't pay using your PSP, you can download the games directly to it. No PS3 required. You just need to be able to access the PSN store on another device to pay for the games.

Yeah but you'll have to have a PS3 the transfer them across to the PSP. Might still work doing this on the PC too but not 100%

Pretty damn easy. Just buy it using a PC or mobile on the PSN store, then download on the PSN store section on your PSP. Couldn't be much simpler!

Wasn't a massive FF9 fan. I found the characters a little restrictive in terms of customising your party.
FF7 is still king for me and FF8 really isn't far behind. The GF system was awesome for that but I will concede that the draw system was...arduous.
UltimatePhoenix to drummerdickens
21 Jan 161#46
Draw wasnt a primary objective though? was good design I loved the card game on both 8 and 9. my fave of order goes 7,8,9. 7 cause of materia, 8 cause of intro, gf leveling, cards then 9 cause of the attempted mix of the two

If you've already enjoyed FF7 I would just follow the experience of those of us who bought them at the time at go for FF8 next, followed by FF9. Everyone has different views as to which of the three is the best. To my mind the best thing to do would be to ignore the individual opinions, play them in sequence, and then form your own opinion when you've finished them.

I also ordered X/X-2 for Vita and 13, 13-2 and Lighting returns. Between these, a Wife, and three kids, I reckon I'll be going until 2020 at least!

7 to 9 are all excellent, but 9 is probably my favourite.
The graphics are still impressive in sections of the game.

Considered the best version of one of the best SRPG's ever. Just be warned it has a large learning curve, super deep though and looks great on Vita.
All of them are different so it's hard to recommend one based on the other. My personal numbered favourites are V (amazing customisation, great sprite artwork, fun story), VII & IX (Great characters, some of the best PS1 graphics, catchy tunes but battles are kinda slow).
At £4 each I say take a punt on V & IX, though these days VI has just as many fans as VII.

Same as hitman. I loved absolution a lot more than I thought, and would have probably got the next one close to release, but they can do one if they think I'm messing about like that.

20 Jan 161#37
Err, you can definitely download it from the PSP; I do it all the time! The store front itself doesn't work, sure, but you can still access your download history. Just buy it on a computer or mobile and download it directly on the PSP. Very little hassle involved at all.

purchase from the PlayStation store. install mediaGo, on MediaGo log onto the profile you purchased the game on, connect your psp using a USB and go to USB connect on the psp. with that you can transfer ps1 games to psp. you'll need a microsd card.

Do these run at PAL 25fps or 30fps?
jamie19916 to Jonsend
20 Jan 16#31
They are pal like most of the eu ps store, ones that aren't usually warn they are the USA version, see spyro and resident evil 2 and 3.
As far as I know these were never optimised which doesn't matter for this kind of gameplay. But it means your character movement, cutscenes and battles are all 17% slower. So the game will take longer to complete and be slower paced.
Would love it on the vita but not going to put up with that.

I know the LOTR Trilogy was one of my favourites, a trilogy that needed 3 parts. The hobbit however, I agree, greedy and that all started with the Harry Potter final films; Part 1 and Part 2, a film that didn't require to be split. Hence why I'm refusing to purchase the remake. I've never been into chapter based games, even the Telltale ones. I won't have SE tarnish what is my memory of a brilliant game. But either way, it is saddening.

What happened to the PSX versions of the older (pre-V) Final Fantasy games? I'm sure the PSX ports of I, II and IV used to be on the PSN store but I don't own them and now they don't seem to be there. Now there's only the PSP versions, which are different (on the PSX, I + II were released as Final Fantasy Origins and they were ported from the Wonderswan remakes, and Final Fantasy IV was bundled with V in Final Fantasy Anthology, both more or less straight ports from the SNES, whereas the versions of these 3 games on the PSP are 'enhanced' remakes). Maybe I'm wrong and they were never available on PSN, but I don't seem to have my original PSX discs anymore!
You just need to buy it maybe 1-2 more times. (Original PSX version from PSN for PS3, PSP and Vita, plus new enhanced PC version when it comes out on Steam.)
Yeah, I'd say that the FFVII remake is going to be so different (as in a full remake rather than some sort of remastered version) that it would still be worth playing both. VI, VII, VIII and IX are all great and I quite liked the remake of III when I played it on the DS.

Such is the trend...
The Lord of the Rings trilogy is widely regarded as good cinema and grossed $3bn.
The Hobbit (which is a smaller book than any one of the LOTR books) is split into 3 dull greedfests but still manages to gross $3bn...

Word is that the FF7 remake will also be split into parts or chapters and sold separately, which is exactly what you want really isn't it? A game that's almost 20 years old, being remade and then split to make massive amounts of profit and taking advantage of the consumer. Lovely. Thanks Square Enix

The PS4 "remake" is going to be a bit more like the Dragon Age or Elder Scrolls games than the these turn-based JRPGs...
